First auditions to include girls were held at Kiltie Hall Saturday, March 1st, 1978 at 1pm., and March 7th at 7pm. All girls that became members in 1978 had prior drum corps experience. Pretty simple, the decision was made in February of that year in an effort to help the corps remain highly competitive and make a better corps. The decision recognized the talent and ability of young women and the corps desired the advantage of all available talent, male and female.
