There's no prove that White Sabers would have placed 8th in open class corps ,There score is that what it is because they completed in Class A they where that much better then other class A corps .Once if they had moved up last year I don't think they would have been 8th .

*Sigh*

I'm too tired to explain this yet again that the Class A and Open class corps in DCA are scored using the same criteria and scales. The scores are yes, directly comparable, the rankings are accurate. Can someone please, please help me, since I seem to not be making this point clear enough?

well, I am quite sure that they are a full voting member, and if they were not judged on the same scale, whoever got bumbed as a voting member wouldn't be pleased,...............

You are incorrect. As it's been explained over and over, all corps at DCA prelims are judged on the same sheets, with the same linear, and with the same tolerances. This is so that DCA can determine the best ten corps, in order, for voting rights.

You might be able to make an argument that at finals the judges do a mental reset, but with only four class A corps, that highly unlikely. The only difference between the classes at championships is size.

The White Sabers were 8th last year. They decided to move up in class to be in direct comparison but as has been said there was no difference in their score derivation than any of the corps above or behind them. It is judged on the same sheet. Although the size of the corps isn't drastically different, they have put some time into constructing a more demanding, thematic show with some very excellent choices in concert band and drum corps familiar literature based on the Rite of Spring.

I have no idea how well they will stack up tonight, but they have worked very hard in the last month or so and I will predict that you will enjoy their show. They will be missing a few members because NYS schools have graduations this weekend. I would like to see them in 4th tonight, but I know that the Bushwackers and Hurcs are also working very hard to deny them that placement. Good Luck to all the competitors. I will playing a gig at the Batavia Casino with the Coupe DeVilles but will check in on the judges tapes as soon as I get a break from playing.
