The Open Class championships will get under way Monday with Prelims in Michigan City.

But tonight the regular O.C. season wraps with two final competitions.

Legends Drum Corps Invitational (7:00 p.m. EDT)

Troy Athens High School

4333 John R. Rd.

Troy, MI 48085

Jubal

Blue Saints

Racine Scouts

Music City

Legends

Spartans

Genesis

Blue Devils B

North Iowa Festival of Brass (7:00 p.m. CDT)

Forest City High School Stadium

206 N. School St.

Forest City, IA 50428

Governaires (all age)

Minnesota Brass (all age)

Stentors

Colt Cadets

Raiders

Gold

7th Regiment

Vanguard Cadets

Even if tonight's placements are the same as last night, the corps nonetheless would benefit from higher scores, which could stand them better for Prelims order.

If you're at either show, please let us know how it goes!

DANG SCVC. 77.625. Dang.

OK, then, the scores from Forest City:

Open Class

1. 77.625 Vanguard Cadets

2. 73.300 7th Regiment

3. 67.750 Gold

4. 63.475 Colt Cadets

4. 63.475 Raiders

6. 56.550 Stentors

All Age Class

1. 77.550 Minnesota Brass

2. 66.250 Governaires

Hey, a tie for fourth! Other than Cadets and Raiders trading captions, the rest match up with the overall O.C. placements.

Besides SCVC's enormous number, 7th Reg. also sees a huge jump, putting them ahead of Legends' and Spartans' Troy scores.

SCVC and the rest of the Forest City competitors have twice as far to drive as BDB and the Troy competitors to reach Michigan City--and they finished about an hour later. Will four fewer hours of travel give the eastern block a little chance to catch up?

Very curious to see how the O.C. corps match up against W.C. next Thursday. By then it will be four weeks or more since SCVC and BDB have faced World Class.
