Name/Corps represented: Eleran/Dewsbury Regulars, Huddersfield Hundred and Mirfield Lockmen Proposal name: Show Awards Proposal description/purpose: Ultimately, this fantasy league comes down to mere number crunching - pick a caption that is likely to bring you scores - and is completely divorced from the creative element that some find even more interesting (and what often drives the love of drum corps in general - the music!). Since some fantasy corps take very seriously the element of selecting a show title/theme/music, etc., and yet none of that translates into the scores in any way .. how about some sort of Award for "Best Show" or something? I'm open to ideas how to implement - it would take a lot of cross-referencing to the "show announcement" thread, of course, but could be something as simple as a Poll thread. Just food for thought. hostrauser Posted August 9, 2015 Share Posted August 9, 2015 I'm not against instituting a DCPI "Spirit of Dizzy" award or some-such fan favorite... but I already have enough to keep track of, so I'd need someone else to volunteer keeping a list of all the corps and their show titles and repertoires for the season. If I felt like getting really fancy, I could probably make it a (viewable-only) Google doc accessible to people on here, with records starting from the first season in which it is implemented. But (without volunteering him for it), Gary might be ideal for it, as he's kept track of some of that stuff in the past (with the newspaper, etc.).
