Watch the European drum corps while they take the field in Kerkrade - The Netherlands. The webcast is a free service by DCE, no login required. JoeDz Posted September 26, 2015 Share Posted September 26, 2015 The Company (United Kingdom) show was a bit like Blue Star's Side Show. Narration in English with a French accent.... Small horn line compared with Kidsgrove. The show is what we would probably introduce as "Statesmen Style......" Make no mistake, though, the show is totally their own creation and very solid in performance. After The Company's performance, they had a studio interview of KS drum major and corps director. A good deal of the interview centered around their DCA experience. Interesting is that while DCA is a culmination for us, for Kidsgrove, it was the start of a momentum groove leading into this part of their season. To watch full screen, click the YouTube icon. You can use the scrubber to check out the prelims of the "premiere" corps. The show now is in break, to be followed by "junior" corps finals and tonight (this afternoon), the finals. Enjoy ! JoeDz Posted September 27, 2015 Share Posted September 27, 2015 Final Scores: 1. Kidsgrove Scouts 91.25 2. The Company 90.20 3. Jubal 88.00 All three corps upped their performance more than a notch in Finals. After scores were announced, it was almost an hour before the encore performance as corps lingered and partied with each other on field. Then, as each corps left, they serenaded the champions, the judges, and the crowd.... in the end, The Company stood in an arc in the end-zone and played a few songs to Kidsgrove who were gathered in front of them. DCE knows how to party ! This is the fifth year they offered the free webcast. Their crew of commentators has an excellent knowledge base and great personality for drum corps. During the live feed, donations from "patrons" totaling over 1200 (Euros?) was enough to ensure that the webcast will be free next year, too...... They listed the names of the patrons (but not the amount of each donation) as a way of saying thanks. So I'll say "Thanks, Drum Corps Europe," for the surprise extension of my drum corps season..... it was well worth my time ! Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
