Notabando - is that you?!?

No. It's the same ol' HornTeacher I've always been on here...for better or for worse. I don't create secondary identities and then hide behind them when I want to say something controversial or be an unidentified lurker. Never have...and MOST assuredly never will. I can screw up more than enough on my very own, thank you very much. Don't forget...IP addresses can be easily determined by the DCP staff -- and they can easily verify what I say. And for those of you who may find doubt through the Shakesprearan "Methinks he protesteth too much,"...well,,,have your way. Just covering my bases.

Though the news has been out there for a bit, the Troopers went big today on their site, announcing additions to their brass staff:

  • High brass & ensemble specialist: Scott-Lee Atchison, caption head at Cavaliers 2010-12, Troopers' BCH 2007-09. He's been busy working on a music doctorate the past couple years.
  • Low brass & ensemble specialist: Anthony Cruddas, caption head at Crossmen 2014-15, and lead low-brass tech at Boston 2011-13.
  • Trumpet tech: Dennis Laorenza, coming to Troop after eight years at BAC.

This news is exciting even to an old drummer like me. Can't wait to hear that first hit of the 2016 season.

Actually, I started my doctorate in 2006 before my first go around at the Troop. I have been teaching at the university of Kentucky the last 4 years which takes up most of my time. Too much time to be a caption head any longer at least.

Thanks for the correction! This part of the release apparently led me to an incorrect conclusion:

He recently completed his doctoral residency at the University of Washington and will soon complete the requirements for a Doctor of Musical Arts in Conducting.

In any case, best of luck with Troop!

Been there. Done that. Wish you the best and success!

Quite of few DCI alums there at U Washington from West Coast corps, Phantom Regt. and Cadets amongst many. Check Med school and bio labs for some great people.
