Southern Knights show music for this summer will be David Holsingers: "In The Spring at the Time When Kings Go Off To War"

And also the lovely hymn: "It Is Well With My Soul"

Joe Murphy and Joel Matuzak have done a great job writing this show!!!

Southern Knights are an All-Age Corps from the Birmingham area in Alabama (not England)

We are scheduled for our DCI/DCA evaluation April 2-3. If all goes well, we have the opportunity for 5 DCI shows and 4 DCA shows.

We are looking to compete in DCA Class A this year, and DCI All-Age.

Better check with George Dixon (DCP) poster before picking your uniform or guard equipment as Cadets' played this Holsinger in '93. The GD opinions of same are quite forthright.

Ballad choice seems wonderfully apt for some sensitive musicianship with its low sustaining chords.

Funny story about Birmingham (England and Alabama.) For a DCI show in Buffalo, there were several alums from England along to help the Cadets as food crew and roadies. During the break day a van load of volunteers headed to see Niagara Falls; but when they were going to see the Canadian side, there was a problem. In those years an American drivers license was sufficient proof of citizenship standing to drive to and from Canada. The Englishman had neither and had left the UK passport is safe keeping back with the corps. So the man from Birmingham, England did a wonderful Southern accent to convince the border guards of both countries that he was from Birmingham, Alabama (which the corpsmates knew enough of from previous shows and championships.) Great actor Martin was as he returned safely to the corps after his Buffalo snowjob. True story..

I am glad to see this. I was thinking about starting a thread on why we havn't seen anything about upcoming DCA evaluations. Hopefully we will hear from the Florida group or groups soon to see how DCA South will be shaping up this year.
