KeithHall
Rochester had several corps and a few I competed against in the 1970's and on. They always held great competitions throughout those years. I remember a show held at Aquinas/Hollander Stadium in 1977. Madison Scouts were there and I vaguely remember a California corps there too. I remember sitting in that stadium and looking down at the field and remembering the NYS AL prelim show that I competed in in 1971. Years later as a member of the Rochester Crusaders we had several shows at the Uof R stadium. Brigadiers, Hawthorne, Reading, Kingston, etc were all there. How many other power house corps competed there? I know that St. Joe's and Magnificent Yankees were battling it out in NY and Purple Lancers close behind. Anyone else have memories of those shows? moorewjr2
It is sad what happened to Rochester drum corps. when I marched with Greece...there were Liberators, Firebirds, Little Americans, Shoreliner Cadets, Sunbirds, Alpine Girls, Rochester Crusdaders, Patriots, Patriot Cadets. Corps for little kids, big kids, and adults. So very, very sad what happened. No corps in Rochester.
