MiniSopGuy
In case you missed the announcement, Impulse Drum & Bugle corps is making a national tour this summer. "We were confident DCI would approve out return to the national stage" said corps director Mike Lopez. "All of the preparation and rehearsal to this point has been geared toward a full tour and we're looking forward to competing in Michigan City at the open class championships." This weekend is the first full weekend camp, and the corps is working hard, just as they have been through the early season. Impulse is still accepting membership in the hornline and guard. If you are looking for a place to march this summer, come out to rehearsal. This weekend, 5/21 &22, Impulse is at Marina High School In Huntington Beach. Next weekend, Memorial Day weekend camp will be held in California's Central Valley. If you are from the Fresno/Bakersfield area, or anywhere for that matter, this would be a great time to join the corps. For more information, please visit www.ImpulseYouthArts.org or email impulse.mngmnt@gmail.com See you on the field!

MiniSopGuy
We are looking for 1 trumpet and 2 baritone players, and 3 guard to fill out our lines. This would fill the show as currently designed, but if we get more, we will open the drill to accommodate more players as long as we maintain the balance needed for a great show. If you are interested in becoming part of our show, "Music is _____.", email impulse.mngmnt@gmail.comIf you are a percussionist, we will be holding a percussion clinic on July 6th from non to 8pm. You will drum alongside the Impulse! drumline. The clinic is open to all sections, including front ensemble, and all skill levels. There will be many door prizes and everyone will receive a free general admission ticket to the SoCal Classic, Open Class Championships on July 17th. Tapper7
To clarify; Impulse is going on a FULL Tour this year, as opposed to the avg West Coast div2 corps season that ends ...about now. Traditionally, this is when corps that ARE "going all the way" make a big go at members of smaller corps who will essentially be "done" in a few days. Reason? = fill the drill spots before leaving for DCI tour. Every corps has had holes for a myriad of reasons, even the big guys; that's where the differential in tour length comes in and all "full tour" corps ...are able to get, well.. FULL. So consider that if you are in one of those corps, you can make the jump next week before they leave CA (This is a presumption on my part) these div3, div2 or exhibition members are ideal because: A) their minds are already in drum corps mode, so are their bodies, sleep cycles etc..... B) they can learn a show 10x faster than the average bear, even if they are only 14. See 'A' above C) they may have changed their minds about the "full tour" thing ...hence ready to dive in head first, hungry, Wantin' mo' HOT...I say HOT to trot that is, they got Ah say they got the Drum Corps Fever which is terminal. Are you <22 and want to go on tour with a fine youth organization with an outstanding record for talent, growth, entertainment, fun, excitement....and now a full f-----ing TOUR? Well then hit up Impulse. A Tapper-approved div2 corps.
