The Kilties were DONE!!

The corps completed the remaining final visual piece to complete the corps' entire 2016 production titled, "The Gael".

On Sunday the corps reviewed sets and segments of the show from "top to bottom", both visually and musically.

The Kilties will now take the Memorial Day Weekend off so the membership of the organization can enjoy time with family and friends over the upcoming extended holiday.

Arriving from Japan, the corps also welcomed their international membership this weekend!

The Kilties next full corps camp will be on June 4th and 5th at Gilmore Middle School in Racine, Wisconsin.

Yes, there are several performance opportunities that presently exist in each section; brass, color guard and percussion.

Visit The Kilties website to inquire about existing opportunities.

Had the chance to stop by several of the camps and observe during the off season, including a road trip and stopping by for a couple hours this past weekend---nice stuff happening! Organized, well planned, focused, laid-back just do the job approach, etc.----stuff that encourages and breeds confidence and a positive experience. Keep it up!!

Well, let's not go to far here. :satisfied:

It's done in it's skeleton form. Most of the bells and whistles need to go on, but it's great being drill done.

Snare and tenors finally full. Could use a keyboard or 2 and one horn in each section. s/m/b/cb.

2 more basses and 3 guard and we are set.

Off this subject it was fun being with one old corps one weekend and the oldest the next again. What a difference a couple years makes. Kilts A, Govs open...

Where are the members from Japan from? Are they associated with any particular HS or Corps there?

No HS or corps affiliation; rather college and involved in independent percussion ensembles and private studies. Taking time off of college and traveled to experience the American drum corps activity with the Kilts.

Last year the corps had a wonderful gent (Ady) from England, in 09 we had a student from Japan on contra and in 06-07 a young man from Japan on snare. Plus several Canadian contingents on and off over the years.
