Northern Thunder
Several reports say this is true. They have been one gutsy corps the last few years!
CrownBariDad
Here's what they posted on Facebook about 7 hours ago: After careful consideration of the goals and objectives of our organization, the Board of Directors and the Executive Director of the Racine Scouts have made the decision to withdraw from the Summer Music Games 2016 Tour schedule. Efforts for the remainder of 2016 will focus on strengthening the corps' local support and membership base, and we are also working with area youth based agencies to expand and diversity our programming. This is NOT goodbye. We WILL return to competitive status sooner than later, and we wish all those involved in any facet of drum and bugle corps a most successful season. C.Holland
sad. But... if they come back stronger I wish more corps of the past has this idea instead of living beyond their means. It always seemed like they were scrambling for membership.

It always seemed like they were scrambling for membership. Membership: Yep -- it's had its ups and downs. But I do remember one of the seasons where a number of members left and Racine was the smallest I've ever seen. They adapted the show with banners (if I recall correctly) to shrink the field to their smaller numbers and they soldiered on. I wish them ALL the best! C.Holland
I appreciate that the've been around so long, but I think an update to the look and programming would do them wonders.
losnickes
I know the folks at Racine very well, and I know for a fact that it's crushing them to have to do this. But I also know that they have every intention to come back breathing fire next year. This is an extremely sad state of affairs, but I for one am not worried in the slightest for the long term health of the organization.
