Florida Sun
Ha! Baltimore is a "southern" show? I think we need to work on your geography! ;) Mason Dixon line runs the boarder of Pa,and includes De,So I guess that show would be south of that line.I'm sure if the Yankee Rebels where still around they would consider them selves a Southern Corps Edited June 27, 2016 by Florida Sun

Fran Haring
Technically, this is a western show. As in western Maryland. LOL Nitpicking, perhaps... but saying this is a "Baltimore show" is like saying Clifton is a "Long Island show."

totaleefree
In the Civil War during the Antieam Campaign R.E. Lee thought that since Maryland was a slave state that when his army came through they would welcome his Army and give them supplies and maybe even some recruits. However that part of Maryland (Fredrick) had been settled by German Piedests who were temded to be Abolishionists (they had even sheltered John Brown for a while). So instead of a warm welcome the locals all hid their daughters and locked their doors. The city leaders though collected some money and gave it to the Confederates not to loot and burn the city. So even Robert E Lee who was a competent general didn't really know if Maryland was in the South or North at least for that part of the state.

Definitely some divided loyalties in Maryland during that period. If anyone on here has some time when visiting Baltimore, check out the Baltimore Civil War Museum at President Street Station, just east of the main Inner Harbor. It's a small museum that details Baltimore's role in the early days of the Civil War, along with stories about the Underground Railroad and the time when president-elect Lincoln was moved across town under the cover of darkness to avoid a threatened assassination on his way to his first inauguration. Great stuff at this place. Plus there's an excellent Irish pub (James Joyce) right next door.
