Who would win of the four 99.0+?

Recommended Posts

We stress that you can't compare scores from year to year, so since we can't use score as a direct comparison, if you could somehow take the four shows that have exceeded a score of 99.0 on finals night and pit them against each other in one live show, who would win?

For those not sure which four those are:

  • Cavaliers 2002 (Frameworks) - 99.15
  • Cadets 2005 (The Zone) - 99.15
  • Blue Devils 2009 (1930) - 99.05
  • Blue Devils 2014 (Feliniuesque) - 99.65

Well, technically, The Cadets in 2005 were the only drum corps to ever win every caption and every sub-caption. They had nothing but 1s across their score. Never been done before or since.

With that kind of strength, I'd go with them.

The Zone. I could listen to that show again and again. They really put a complete winner on the field that year.

What judging system are we to utilize ? The judging system in place in 2002, or the one in place in 2014 ? ( while there are some similarities,) the DCI judging system in place in 2002 is not the same as the DCI judging system in place in 2014.

2002 Cavaliers if we use the DCI judging system in place in 2002.

2014 Blue Devils if we use the DCI judging system in place in 2014.
