tesmusic
Just wanted to give a quick nod to you. Such an amazing show (I didn't know about all that stuff behind the scenes on Saturday night). I'm often torn which I like more, '97 or '98. So, congrats on both of those! They were both such fun years! The '97 corps was VERY young. I believe about 2/3's of us in the hornline were new to the corps, so we had to work very hard. At our open house performance in April of that year, we almost didn't play the closer because we simply weren't ready, but pulled it together that weekend. It was also a major departure from 1994-1996 with all the Latin shows, so we had a lot of people to convince. One of my favorite "stories" from that year is that the captain that wins on finals night, and the captain that loses would switch off through the season as to who would ultimately win. chrishickie
Blue Devils 1996 Star of Indiana 1993 Santa Clara Vanguard 2004 (This is a remarkable horn book!) Madison Scouts 1995 (I loved this show and was astonished that it placed 4th) Suncoast Sound 1986 Crossmen 1997 (Toughest one out place but this show should have placed 4th that year…best drumline I’ve heard out of Crossmen in years!) Bluecoats 2007 (94.050 and in 7th place…really?) Magic of Orlando 1996 (Marched this show and so it had to make it in) Blue Stars 2016 ( Really like this show a lot) Velvet Knights 1990 Spirit of Atlanta 2013 Troopers 2009 (This was one of the coolest experiences I’ve ever seen at a drum corps show was them being announced onto the field at Finals) A lot of these could easily be swayed but this is my list.
