DCI World Championship Finals - August 9, 2025

Perc2100, I found the recap from 87. It's hard to read the names as they are in cursive but there were two percussion judges, both gave Garfield 10.0. Jay Kennedy was on perc ensemble and on perc field, I think the name is Micholruis? Best I can make it out and also a 10.0. Back then, percussion was part of the GE score another perfect 10 given by R McCarty. The brass and visual GE scores were 14.7 and 14.0 for a total of 38.7 GE. They lost GE to SCV by 0.4 but won perc field and ensemble perc by 0.5 giving them the title by 0.1 points. Both corps tied in brass and visual captions. Kinda fun going thru the old stuff reliving these days. -

And just like that, the season is over. Kinda bummed the season starts in late June. While the NFL, NBA and others have made the seasons longer, I understand school schedules make it harder for drum corps to do. Thank you Boston for coming out west. Now if we can get other corps to continue farther west than stopping in Kansas towards Texas, it would be appreciated. -
I flew in from Denver for this show. A great venue for drum corps. Great acoustics and the steepness of the stands really adds to the viewing. Spartans were very entertaining, Blue Devils looking to make a big push by Indy. Not a homer BK fan, but what is keeping them behind Troopers? Show design, a certain caption holding them back or just execution of the show? That being said, this is my favorite BK show probably in the past 10 years or so. The weather wasn't bad at all for July. Luckily the show wasn't a day earlier as it felt really brutal just to be outside.

I went to a local town carnival last summer. I stopped at a concession trailer to grab a coke and some nachos. The items were $4 each along with about everything else, except as I walked towards the end of the trailer, I saw a sign that had everything twice the price that I paid. This was the credit card price and come to find out I paid the cash price. If I ever go back, I'll make sure I have cash as I can't see myself paying 100% more for the same items with a credit card.

I marched Tymp in 79 my rookie year. I feel like it made my back stronger but was happy when I got to play grounded in 80-82. -

After reading all of this, to think I marched in nineteen hundred and seventy nine for $100. -

I know two gals who said they marched with an all girl corps and at their ten year high school reunion, claimed to have invented post it notes. -
Cadets Suspend for 2024

This actually made me laugh out loud! Oh, the good old days. VK had some old buses from the late 50's? One was called Silver sides and once inside you felt like you were headed toward a dark goth underworld -
Are you thinking the tympani player in 1982? As far as I know, no it is not the same person. In fact "this I believe" lol his brother was drum major of Cadets that same year.
