The “Back in Black” t-shirts in ‘96 were very popular at the souvie booth. Think the ‘97 version of the black uni was my favorite.
I know the khaki jackets weren’t popular with the fans but I liked the idea of the British Regiment-ness of them.
I remember the meeting when Michael C. unveiled the new look to the booster club in late ‘86 early ‘87. His speech before the unveiling was very theatric. The sketches were beautifully done but when the uniform was actually worn by the models it came to life, elegantly. The idea of “chickens” on the helmet was met some skepticism but it just completed the look. It made the members look ten feet tall.
Then the first show…Whitewater, I think. The folks in the stands were in stunned silence until the announcer introduced them. Then the place went bonkers.
My sister in Springtown, Ft. Worth suburb, says it’s getting nasty weather wise a quarter to half inch of ice with about four inches of snow on top of that. That’s just for tonight! The weekend only gets worse.
Troop, you made a good decision.
Not really but I think the silence is a continuation of what they’ve done the last few seasons and they haven’t disappointed. Looking for big things from Regiment this year.
