  1. erm... multiplication, of course! lol
  2. I noticed a markedly higher amount of ground-work marketing (a la, audience interviews, etc.). May have been Flo doing it, but I thought it might've been his doing since it popped right after he took the job.
  3. General favorite pants = light (for contrast with field) Acceptable dark pants = when there's white on top to contrast and see drill (ie, 2000s Cavies! The white aussie + white gauntlets + white gloves paired with black pants is AWESOME for drill watching) Least favorite combo = dark + dark (ie, 2000s BD dark blue top + black pants; the more recent modern BD unis with the bright pink/yellow/purple accents to compliment the dark pairing fixed my issue).
  4. HA! "Thank you for your attention to this matter." If I had a nose, this would be on it.
  5. A goofy comment or innocent mistake bringing a moment of levity in a rehearsal, followed immediately by a joyous unanimous, alright, back to work shift. The moment was enjoyed for what it was and then it was gone, forever baked into the positive memories of the members who felt mentally refreshed by the interaction during a long day. My favorite thing about that is the maturity and the dedication, combined with the humanity and shared purpose, of the members necessary to make that kind of beautiful interaction possible. It honestly brings me joy thinking about it. πŸ™‚
  6. Agreed. My category for fundamentals includes exactly what you're talking about. πŸ™‚
  7. Not to be a fuddy duddy, but doing all those fundamentals means that you spend more time cleaning nuance rather than structural issues. I like the old adage: "Don't steal the magic from the repertoire; fix the issues in your warm-ups."
  8. I like the opportunities for different instrument because of the extended technique stuff. Trombone gliss is the obvious... but: Doing the Clarinet glissando for Rhapsody in Blue.... mm mm MM! Beatboxing or pitch bending flute (so cool) Multiphonics on saxophone (favorite use is right below... give it a second)
  9. Agreed. My very first time seeing Cadets live was 1999. Insane; I was hooked.
  10. The one that pops into my head, though it's definitely not a perfect fit, is Colts 2023 (Where the Heart Is). I know it wasn't "pop" culture references, per se, but the use of telephone polls, road signs, even the phrase "home sweet home" are cultural memes. Shoot, Blue Stars from last year with all their sports references... each one of those sports represented in the show has a subculture that I think they mined beautifully for "content." An OP OP, if I do say so myself. Which I do. πŸ™‚
  11. That's awesome! πŸ™‚
  12. Wrong thread, but man, Crosswalking was my wife's top (and one of my top 5) shows of 2025! We still say, "WAIT." to each other around the house. πŸ™‚
  13. I just keep my own records. If you can provide proof of donation and that you know they're for sure 501(c)(3) (cancelled checks, etc.) you can survive an audit. (ps, I'm just a guy on the internet. Could me wrong!)
  14. I think this reductio ad absurdum argument works... unless the person who's posting pics is famous and you (the savvy bathroom remodeler) offer your work for free as long as the "free advertising and exposure" happens. πŸ™‚ I think this scenario lines up better with this particular situation.
