1971, 23" with straps and leg rest. My favorite. Then moved to custom made aluminum harness with counter weights. Heavier than the drum. Harnesses for my 29" in '72 and '73. And more parades.
First attack in first DCI final? Me and the boys in Whitewater '72.
Best parade experience? Walking back to the buses after the Pulaski Day parade in NYC, '72 or'73. Always did that parade. Pulled into, I think, PJ Clarke's by corps members. 29" became our table. Drinks and ash trays. Just the way we did things. I'll say '73 because I would have been legal but it might have been '72.
