  1. At NightBeat I felt like the only one to yell it... everyone looked at me like I was crazy. Maybe a few nights into finals week people will catch on.
  2. He didn't make the corps get off the field. They were painting the feild weel before the Cadets went on. Hop was around when they started, imo the field looked fine. I'd like to know why too.
  3. Scv omg what a great show!!
  4. Make sure to get between the valves, in the caps and under the water release. It will make your horn look dull if not shiny there too!
  5. Crown's sound is not a match for Phantom. Neither is BD! Imo, Bluecoats have the best sound! On a tech view, I would have to say Cadets most years or BD. But Phantom vs. BD. Phantom has the balance, music, and passion. BD has the high end, most notes, and high level of training.
  6. As a warm-up I will play F and sing the 5,6,4,5 then go down half a step. Then I'll do low F in 5th's and go up in half steps. It's a fun tool and will help with ear training. Also, from what I've heard from teachers is it works better because on the harmonic series the notes are further apart and so lower horns sound better with notes that are further apart.
  7. I prefer sop and contra, it's the choral director in me. I've called bari's tenors and mello's alto for kicks. On a side note, I dislike when people call Euphoniums, Baritones.
  8. I really enjoy this idea. I'm not much of a business person so I'm sure I don't get all the ends and outs. My only thing is that this would be huge! It would involve all the corps and be hard to execute. Thinking about it though, wasn't the creation of dci huge?
  9. Hey everyone, I've been reading these forums for years and decided to get in on the discussion. I marched 5 years at Dorman High School, SC. I currently attend Gardner-webb, working on my Music Ed degree/Euphonium. Went to march The Colts in 09' and found myself in a hospital a few times, long story short I couldn't march. I love DCI and my favorite corps is The Cavaliers but I also enjoy Phantom and Bluecoats.
  10. I've learned you can't have an opinion against Crown because they can do no wrong. I enjoy the sound of the Bluecoats. That. Is. All. :-)
  11. Shouldn't the cleanest and best corps win? Even if it's boring? It's like saying a football team should win because they look cool or are flashy, if you don't score you don't win.
  12. I saw the same thing, maybe he was nervous about the new judging system. His name is all over it and if it doesn't go over well he will have to face it. Hopefully all is well, he's such a great part of this sport. Prayers go out to him.
  13. My favorite hornline of the show tonight. Such rich sounds coming from this line. They are playing those horns the way they are meant to be played. :-) can't wait to see them at the end of the season.
  14. Phantom has the most potential IMO This show has so much room to grow and the hornline sounds solid! Cavies will be Cavies and grow this show beyond what anyone can guess. Bluecoats also have so much room to grow, but holy cow that hornline is awesome. The Cadets sound and look like The Cadets, I like it. Crown has the hardest show and while they others are adding and growing, they will be just cleaning and cutting back on some parts like they have already. I was sad about Blue Star I'm sure I will grow to love it but, not into it yet. The recaps were a load, Blue Star had 2nd in a caption, percussion crazy and phantom low in so many random captions... I guess they have time to work it all out.
  15. Dci, your judging is bad and you should feel bad. :-)
