  1. For those of you in love with the drum corps world and high school marching band world, if you are interested: https://www.ebay.com/itm/336626481816 Own a piece of history from the marching band world in the 90's 🙂
  2. https://www.ebay.com/itm/336601269299 Drum Corps International SCORELINE 1991 Summer Music Games Weekly review. Released by DCI weekly during the 1991 season, this mailing reviewed each of the corps throughout the season. Written mostly by the great Michael Boo, each review gave comments about the various corps taken directly from the judging community. Also included things like the Spectators Poll, Writers Poll and Computer Rankings. This is a complete set from the 91 season, along with a couple duplicates. Each weekly mailing is in great condition. Grab these VERY hard to find small pieces of DCI history!

  4. Thanks for this! That was fun... Its probably too much work, but it would be cool to to have a bracket with all the second place corps in history, then another bracket with the third place corps, etc. ...all the way to the 12th place. Then we could have an all-time 1st thru 12th champion for each. But thanks - I ended up having Spartacus go against 91 Star at the end, and picked Spartacus. 🙂
  5. Sorry, I saw someone already brought this up in the other thread...
  6. Looks like DCI removed the show at Univ of Delaware from the schedule for this coming season...sad, because that venue was OUTSTANDING for a DCI show. Great seating, great sound, etc. Bummed to see it not there anymore...
  7. Just letting everyone know this great video set is still available and at a reduced starting bid from the original listing a few weeks ago…grab this wet while you can, you wont regret it! The high cam of Garfield and Santa Clara are worth it just for those two great corps. https://www.ebay.com/itm/336413762713
  8. He is in the hall of fame…search YouTube for his acceptance speech. It’s pretty cool and funny. Well deserved for sure.
  9. I believe the solo audio everyone is referencing is a recording from 87 semis that Tom Blair dubbed on to the finals video when he created the bluray…I think the recording was actually from Ken Kobold, and DCI used his audio for their high camera semis videos. If I am wrong in this I apologize, but I thought I read this somewhere when the bluray was released a while back…

  11. Grab this while you can - a great set! https://www.ebay.com/itm/336370962256
  12. Agreed…and personally I thought finals audio from Indy was not as good this year. The pit and mic’d sounds were way up on Flo, and the horn line and on field drums were down…not the punch they usually have in the mix. So yeah, using that audio is not the best, but the only option. I feel like someone tried to normalize the mix and make it all balanced, which in the end doesn’t work for marching band and drum corps.
  13. I’m sure the source is the Flo marching vids…screen record during the summer, then rip the audio off the video files.
  14. Phantom has been releasing finals videos on YouTube since 2021…I think the corps have always been allowed to release their own videos as long as they assume the cost of the sync licensing rights. I would expect those corps that have done this in the past have paid those rights properly. I would be surprised if they were releasing their own individual videos on YT illegally. BD has also been doing this for years, and other corps like BK and Mandarins have released in past years. This whole video and audio problem is just a mess…FLO has tried, individual corps have tried, DCI used to try and gave up, and BOA is working with it by using Tresonas Spin Network. My issue is what was said by someone earlier…the fact that the members and their parents can’t get a high quality video, and now not even audio, of DCI finals as a keepsake is ridiculous. But it appears it will be a LONG time before anything changes. Sad
  15. BOA has an on demand video streaming service thru the Spin Network…Video, not audio, but it is still something. Not many people know about it. It costs $50 a year, and you get LOTS of BOA performance videos on demand from various seasons. It’s basically a BOA Fan Network like DCI used to have before 2015 hit. I don’t understand why DCI doesn’t try to work out something like the Spin Network, especially since that network is owned by Tresona… Also, why not try a streaming DCI audio service? They charge a monthly fee just like any other streaming service, and you can stream audio of any DCI performance from various years. It would not be download friendly, just stream friendly. I know FLO has their FLO marching radio stream, but you can’t choose what to listen to. I’m sure there are reasons for their decisions that we will never be aware of, but for a fan of drum corps audio and video and a collector since my high school days back in the mid 80s, it’s just another sad chapter for me in the DCI audio/video historical saga. I’m bummed like everyone else…
