Northeast Ohio show moving to Akron?

I’ve been to Miami for WGI, and I’ve marched with Miami students in drum corps, but I’ve never been near the football stadium. -
Northeast Ohio show moving to Akron?
kevingamin replied to frank4now's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
Innovations in Brass over the past few years has become THE event to finish the regular season prior to Championships. As mentioned, there are THIRTEEN World Class corps in the lineup. This show was hosted at the University of Akron for years before Bluecoats moved it back to their home city as part of their initiative to bring all of their programs back to Stark County (Spring Training in Alliance at University of Mount Union, the partnership with EN-RICH-MENT leading to the Arts Education Center in Canton, Homecoming weekend to start the season at the end of June, Innovations in Brass at the Hall of Fame stadium, and the Champion Event Center for Bingo, catered events, and corps operations). The scheduling didn't work out this season, as also mentioned earlier, but Bluecoats did not burn any bridges when they moved the show to Canton, so they are able to move it back to Akron for the first time since 2022. Hopefully without the rain. -

Oh, I know, but I still wasn’t expecting it. -
In George Mason University's drum line show! "Dad, where did you hear that? Drum Corps Planet?!?!?" This is a show full of marching arts Easter eggs, including Malaguena and the Bluecoats pitch bend.

I haven't used Google Photos in some time, so I'll have to do some testing on my end. Once the indoor season is over, I'm also going to be looking at maintenance and upgrade work for both the main site and the forums, so it's possible getting on the latest version of Invision Power Board may help, as well.

Bluecoats didn't field for a couple seasons and still celebrated their 50th in 2022. Heck, they called 2018 "Session 44" because it was their 44th season on the field, even though it was their 46th year of existence. -
New Open Class Championship location?

Unfortunately, I still can't go. OC Prelims is the same night as Innovations in Brass, which is my home show, and now there's an all-age show in Columbus ON MY BIRTHDAY the same night as OC Finals. What's ironic is that OC Championships are the closest they've ever been to me. -

Bluecoats Alumni rehearsed at IWU the day before semis in 22, and, boy, we got more steps in walking from place to place than on the field. -

My wife and I are both Civ players, and the theme songs he's written for two of those games (Baba Yetu for Civ 4 and Sogno di Volare for Civ 6) are spectacular in their own right. That he took those two songs and created song cycles from both (Calling All Dawns and To Shiver the Sky), winning Grammys for Baba Yetu and Calling All Dawns in the process, is incredible. The Drop that Contained the Sea, from which Temen Oblak, Crown's 2019 opener comes from, is also an amazing album. Calling All Dawns The Drop that Contained the Sea To Shiver the Sky -

Glassmen held a Monte Carlo poker event twice a year (February/March) on top of their Bingo operations. Members were expected to work one or both of the Monte Carlo weekends as these were major fundraising opportunities for the corps. During my marching years, we made those weekends 24/7 events, so we'd have members sleeping in the non-smoking room and working in shifts as dealers. I got good enough that I would work the Texas Hold 'Em tables as that's where the high stakes players would go.
