Hold on. Are you implying or suggesting that running DCI should not be a full time, fully compensated job? Maybe I am not fully understanding what you are saying. Z

Great choral arrangements of corps songs
MikeZ replied to tedrick's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
Yes. 2022's ballad was the Blue Devils take on the Jacob Collier version of Moon River. Z -

Are you referring to Jacob Collier? Jacob Collier tunes/arrangements have been performed by Blue Devils, Carolina Crown, Spirit of Atlanta, Seattle Cascades, and Louisiana Stars. Z -
Myron Rosander best drill and drill move?
MikeZ replied to wolfgang's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
He has pretty distinctive drill. He wrote for Mandarins for a year in 13 or 14. I didn't see the news, but as soon as the show started I commented to my wife that it sure looked like Myron Rosander drill and I was correct. I always argue that he is the drill writer that it would be easiest to identify just by looking at the dots on a page. Those classic follow the leaders and the use of lots of 2 step intervals are a dead giveaway. Z -
Myron Rosander best drill and drill move?
MikeZ replied to wolfgang's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
Overall. 1997. Although you could really group 96-99 as the best 4 year run. As for favorite move. Nothing iconic, just anytime Vanguard hornline members had to bring their elbows in for a pass through. What about hardest Myron drill? 2000 SCV? 2006 Scouts? Z -
I just looked in the Ticketmaster app and had no problem pulling up the few seats that are available in 139 for finals night. I did not try to purchase as I already have 2 tickets in 140. On my end, there is no issues with Ticketmaster. Z

Can't poach my seat if I am sitting in it. I managed to see every single performance over all 3 days last year. I realize this is not something every person can or will want to do, but I aim to do the same thing in 2026. Z

DCI 2026 IMPORTANT DATES for SUMMER TOUR
MikeZ replied to keystone3ply's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
It could, but it won't. I am super excited to hear the Regiment alumni from row 7 of 140. Z -
DCI Indy 2026 Single Tics?
MikeZ replied to Triple Forte's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
Normally the first week of December. Honestly, there will not be any decent seats available. Most seats that I would consider "good" are held for Super 3 and Friends of DCI tickets. Sometimes you can snag an okay seat for Thursday, but Saturday will go on sale with no tickets available in 139, 140, 141. This is what made me pull the trigger on Super 3 tickets the past few years. It's expensive, but at least I am paying for a seat I actually want to sit in. Z -
When did you get the seat assignments? I purchased the Super 3 package on my phone from the stands within 5 minutes of them being released. I have still seen nothing from DCI. I will feel much better knowing I have the seats I want. Z

The Staff Merry-go-round 2025-2026 edition
MikeZ replied to oldestoftheold's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
It is very apparent you have been nowhere near a current, modern day, touring drum and bugle corps. Spend a few days volunteering for a corps, and you can actually see how staffing works. Z- 964 replies

I have no doubt that the intention was well meaning, but i feel the podcast episode will have the opposite of the intended effect. Z -
The Staff Merry-go-round 2025-2026 edition
MikeZ replied to oldestoftheold's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
Not to take this way off topic, but my experience around Boston when I was marching in the mid 90's was that they were not the nicest folks. When lining up and going out for retreat, Boston made it a habit of finding the smallest hornline member next to them and giving them a pretty hard time. Dinging their horn, elbowing them, saying some fairly nasty things about them. Never had this problem around any other corps. This in no way effects how I feel about Boston today. I was as pumped as everyone else when they won. Most of those 90's Boston folks probably have nothing to do with the corps today. Folks claiming the 90's Boston kids were a bunch of angels...well...that was not my experience. Z Huge Boston fan...at least of the current members/staff. -

I would argue that both 2022 and 2023 Crossmen were very solid drumcorps. I would even go as far as saying 2022 Crossmen were significantly better than 2022 Troopers. Troopers had momentum and the crowd on their side but my opinion is that Crossmen marched/played/spun better than Troopers. I also thought 2023 Crossmen were better than 2023 Blue Knights. It seems the show design and talent level dropped off in 2024 and again in 2025. I am sure missing finals in 22/23 made recruiting a bit more challenging. I have my fingers crossed that we see a rebound from Bones in 2026. I know this is not likely to happen, but it seems when Crossmen are in a rough spot, they call on Chuck Naffier. I do not know if that is a possibility in 2026, but it sure would make me happy to hear his arrangements on the field again. Z Fan of Crossmen. -
I just talked to the folks at the Super 3 booth in the stadium. They are no longer allowing you to make a specific request. They told me if you are happy with your seats, they will try to keep you there. I am not happy about dropping 848.00 and not knowing for sure if I will get the seats I want. For now, I am keeping my fingers crossed and hoping I didn't just spend a lot of money on seats I don't want. For the record, I am happy right now sitting in row 1 of 140. Z
