  1. Is there any possibility of getting the "Go back to the Top" button that was next to the "Report" button restored? That was very handy

  3. The only ones that don't would be the community admins (JohnZ and bawker) and JohnD.

  5. Questions about friends: 1) The small pic below the avatar - is that to add and remove friends from your list? When you add a person to your friends list then it automatically sends a friend request to that person too, right? 2) Someone added me to their friends list and they are saying that I am not showing up on their friends list. What could be causing that? 3) Let's say that I want to remove someone from my friends list. There's a manage friends option on 1 of the drop downs, but when I go there it just lists all of them. No way to remove someone from there. Is there? 4) If a person has there friends requests set to manually approve, will there be a notification sent if they decline?

  6. 1) Yes, that icon adds that person as your friend. To answer 3), click it again. Member is removed as a friend. 4) No decline message is sent. 2) I'm not sure. Try re-adding?

  7. I believe what you are talking about is still there. Just look to the top of the thread you are in. If you click the farthest left box that might say "32 pages", there is a drop down that lets you jump to what ever page you want and there is navigation to go to the first/last page. This can also be seen in the forum listing next to the thread name if there are multiple pages. If I misinterpreted your question and that is not what you mean, let me know :)

  9. Thanks John. After pounding on the new site for a few days I've been itching to make comments here. Simply, I'm very impressed (or, maybe, I'm simple so I'm easily impressed). The site's interface has a new look and feel, for sure, but it's still mostly familiar. There are goodies like a "Quick Reply" pane that's resident on each post screen, a "hover" feature that lets you see the first or last post of each thread just by hovering over the topic, and a chat-type pane to post quick comments on a side bar. One note: for any of you using Windows XP (not 93 like I originally thought, John) you'll find the fonts colors and most functionality beyond just reading thread topics is mostly useless. My company still uses XP and it looks like I'll become much more productive at my desk beginning next week! While I originally thought that John D. and staff had done ALL the programming - and apparently they're using a third party's shell - John was able to change the few bugs I found and improve the site even more. I think you all will, with a little practice, really enjoy the new site (despite the few here who pee on their own corn flakes each morning and seem to complain about just about anything). Oh! One addition that I still don't understand is rating the "reputation" of each poster/member. Somehow this lets you filter what you see by reputation rating so you don't waste your time on cornflakes pee-ers. I'll be anxious to see how this works once everyone can rate everyone else's reputation. Good job, John. Kudo's from me anyway.

  10. I agree - I'm not getting too nitpicky about the classical music Boston has chosen. And let's face it - Phantom's "classic" Bacchanale treatments were in 1990 and 1991. Boston playing it in 2009 is hardly ripping off the hot new trend, you know? If you go with DCI's own demographic data, half the kids in the corps were likely *born* in those years. That'd be like in 1990 saying "wait, Phantom's ripping off the Moose Park Mooses - they played Bacchanale in 1972!" Spread's the same. Or saying in '72, "Kingsmen are ripping off X - they played it in 1954!" Mike

  14. the percentage i quote has come from DCI staffers and marching members that get to hear tapes. As well as from some of the tapes on that dfreaded site ( insert that site comment here) and..on music tapes you'll hear "oh snares, that roll isnt quite there yet but I realize you're running there" but on a visual tape do you hear "oh snares, you missed that form locking, but I realize you're trying to lock a fast roll there" not on your life.

  17. A step in the right direction, but a tad cluttered. Overall an improvement. Also wanted to let the team know that the display of quotes is broken.
