  1. Alternate title for SCV's show: Live by the electron, die by the electron.

  2. Unfortunately the acoustics in the indoor Lucas Oil Stadium are so ill-suited for drum corps that you won't really be able to hear anything that is "drum corps loud" anywhere higher than the 200-level sections (140, 240), even 200 is pushing it. I'm serious.

  3. Reilly has come to the conclusion that no corps these days is truly an Alumni corps, so we've droped that description. To that end, we are recruiting for members of all ages and talents to join The New Reilly Raiders. We have ramped up our administration by adding Jimmy Russo as our Co-program Coordinator, and brought in Curt Hawkins as brass caption head.In addition, Karen Antolik has taken over the color guard. We had out first rehearsal with Curt last Sunday, and it was amazing to see how the horn line responded to him. The show for next year will have a "back to the future" feel. We opened up the file cabinet and pulled some old charts, but we will have one or two new tunes, as well. We expect to have an exciting season in 2016. While I'm at it, let me announce that we will host the Reilly Raiders Music Festival on April 23, 2016 at Burlington High School, Burlington, NJ. The show will feature Jimmy Jordan's JTO Big Band, with several players from the ranks of drum corps. There will be four or five corps to entertain you as well, but I'll list those as we get closer to Aptil 23rd. Mark your calendars now. Butch Myers, Secretary New Reilly Raiders Drum and Bugle Corps

  6. I still get goose bumps from this show. TILT, a show that will live forever! From today's dci.org and written by Michael Boo: http://www.dci.org/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=33500&ATCLID=210591803

  7. Dill weed? What, are we now in the 7th grade again? Jeesh, presumptions of ignorance and silly name calling. I think I've seen you play this movie, haven't I?

  8. BD's show actually made more sense after editing out the K-pop. It's a pretty seamless cut on the disc. They did indeed fix SCV, I assume with Semis recording footage. But BK's show comes off as kind of awkward, especially the ending - it's the only one that *sounds* like it's been edited. Mike

  10. Not a major championship along the lines of the VFW, AL, World Open, etc., during those years.... but my first year around drum corps, 1967, my older brothers marched in a Garden State Circuit corps from NJ, and I remember the Riversiders from NYC dominating the circuit that year and winning the GSC championship. Great local corps.

  11. I can only assume you're speaking generally to the people from whom I bought my second-hand drum corps LPs from the 70's and 80's, Mr. Eloquent. All the LPs I bought new still sound like the day they were new, and yes, some of them were very noisy with clicks and pops when they were new...which was my point.

  13. Yes. Santa Claus has decided to become clean energy efficient. He's been dumping coal this year on all his travels, so don't take it personal, HornTeacher.
