While all of this is true, I would like to share how mightily impressed I was with last year's Boston Crusaders Corps, blemishes and all. They fought with all their might not to be the 1st Boston Crusaders Corps to have not have made Finals since 1999. They were determined to not allow that to happen on their watch. They really had their hands full... sitting in 14th place with only 2 weeks to go. They could have coasted to that finish line. But did not. They busted their arses for Boston Crusaders marchers and BAC Corps that went before, with an all out effort to retain their Corps Finalist position. it was by no means an easy uphill climb as they were facing some very competitive and terrific Drum Corps. So I will always have a soft spot for last season's Boston Crusaders. I won't soon forget that late season surge of theirs. It was inspirational, imo. Something the 2017 edition of the Boston Crusaders can draw upon this summer when its hot, muggy, they're tired, and think they may not have much more in their tank to give.8 points

I am not an official spokesperson for the corps, so I will defer to them. But I think I can tell you that this is the Boston that I have been waiting for for more than 30 years.6 points

I always find it fascinating when people announce they're leaving social media. I mean, just go if you're leaving. I think people are way too sensitive over the internet sometimes, especially this forum. Since I don't know anyone here personally (except Corpsband and Whitedawn), I just take every comment from every person with a grain of salt (until we meet in person). What difference does it make? They find the people eventually right? Stop complaining all the time.5 points

Bye everyone who is leaving! See you in a few weeks when we're just talking about their show and you just can't resist remaining silent. (I tried leaving in 2015 and I lasted about five days). So the pews look nice. This show sounds like it's gonna be super a e s t h e t i c.5 points

Those leaked videos probably don't seem so bad now considering the other conversations on this forum.5 points

Pro tip: Life is a hell of a lot more fulfilling if you aren't needlessly scared of every second of it. You don't have to worry about a terrorist attack because threads like this mean the terrorists have already won.4 points

Why do you feel you must withhold your excitement? BAC should have a strong year. You probably defended them for all the "off" years. Enjoy it. The season goes quickly.4 points

And to clarify my previous comments about hanging on to 12th. It was a supreme effort by those MM's last year to make that happen. That determination and will have not gone away, of that I am certain.3 points

Well this is a huge week for BAC and for the waiting fans to get a good look and listen to them. I'm not sure to what extent we will see and hear things as each upcoming event is different form another. Thursday's Boston Greenway event - no drill opportunity but should play the entire show. Friday Spring Fling, BAC's annual fundraising event for alumni & friends - again music no field show, Saturday in Everett - field show; first glimpse of everything? I hope to be at all of these. I am so excited but not hyping, in case anyone was concerned about hyping.3 points

The bare bones of One Study is now on the field. This is a legit percussion feature (1:30 - 1:40). With this drum line, why wouldn't you give them a feature?2 points

Love the theme!!! ...I hope they will announce their repertoire soon! I LOVE the troopers...they have a very special place in my heart...the very first drum corps I ever heard way back in 1986 and I've been hooked on drum corps ever since...2 points

I keep finding all kinds of BD licks in brass and percussion. Unfortunately this move I have been doing will keep me from Mars until the day after they leave. The weather has not been warm so hey are not baking but it's windy enough here to know nights there are quite frigid.2 points

The stadium where Ariana Grande performed her Manchester concert in May holds approximately 21,000 people. It also had lots of young people. At finals, at a minimum there will be 1,800 young people associated with the corps, not to mention those in the stands. The yellow school buses are there for high school students. Terrorists don't care about numbers, they are concerned with impact. So DCI and LOS should be concerned.2 points

Hop is looking for volunteers to move props, etc. Not sure why they always wait until the second week of June to start lookin for these people, especially since they knew there would be big props2 points

I agree there is never a lack of confidence when Indy rolls around. What may be different this year, is seeing that level of confidence early, and how it translates into each performance. I think caution about letting loose musically last year, coupled with design missteps & a struggle to figure out fixes, led to slow performance development. The result was barely hanging on to 12th. I see a huge difference this year already.2 points

I have been here with the corps all week and I have intentional been silent as I have been accused of hype in the past. All can be said is forget whatever think you know about BAC. Honestly.2 points

lol..i hear ya. I've been to many of those also ( painful ) try judging a gymnastic ribbon and ball contest where they all are required to use the same music BUT I have also, for 1 reason or another, sat through hours of shows within our activity and it can be just as painful, I don't know how some do it. Now if I'm judging , as long, time wise as it can be , It's much better . I think because there are things I'm looking for and have a job to do and be fair and helpful to those I critique. Don't get me wrong, just watching a show is great also BUT those who have to sit hour after hour after hour deserve their own kudos and thanks of course1 point

Haven't been to a colorguard show in a while, but the longest colorguard show moves much faster than the shortest cheerleading competition. That's what Crown should have depicted in 2015's "Inferno" because there have been many times I've had no choice but to attend a cheerleading contest and "Abandon hope, all he who enter here" is exactly how I feel. Cheerleading contests can make me question God, the goodness of humanity , and life in general.1 point

It is funny when people say they are leaving a friggin forum. like I am supposed to care you announced you are leaving. LOL. I have more things to worry about than............................ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I am leaving this forum. Grow up. lol we are not as important as we tend to believe. we want to, but honestly I put my pants on the same way everyone else does. join me in Syria next week for a 90 day tour and maybe I will change my mind. other than that, find a tissue to cry in1 point

Security at LOS has come up before, and the overall consensus was security was higher st finals than prelims and semi's which is probably due to numbers. I arrive almost as soon as the doors open on Thursday and a Friday and my camera bag is opened, glanced toward, and I can move on. Saturday things are ramped up and the inspection is more thorough. That's the most screening I recall. Regarding souvenir trucks: they don't enter the building and souvenirs are sold at booths, but my guess is the containers are not inspected, nor are the props and equipment of the corps. i would not be surprised to see a clear bag policy in place this summer. I believe Atlanta did that last year.1 point

Maybe DCA would be a better place for Pioneer at this point. I get that the "Better Every Day" thing means more than just being a competitive drum corps; but this is just sad. If the members are having fun and are preparing themselves to join a corps outside of the top 12, that's cool. The activity has passed this corps by.1 point

Et Tu, George? You want deleted the posts you don't agree with? Look - I have kids, several of them. And on more occasions than i want to remember, something like this appeared in an organization they were involved in. I'm hyper sensitive to it. It's bad stuff. So should we censor discussion and pretend it doesn't exist? My church tried that to its great failure and never ending shame. And it keeps happening and the initial reaction is the cover up (ex: Penn State). I pray we never read about any further issue with this subject that's been discussed over the last several pages here. I don't want that stain associated with the drum corps activity I love. You see, with me it has NOTHING to do with the Cadets. If this were any other corps I'd be here posting the same post. But go ahead and delete everything because the reputation matters more than the reality. We are dealing in fact here. Something that actually happened. Not some heresay or rumor. Ugh. I want to move on here.1 point

I have VIP tickets for Orlando, but if I know someone who needs one I'll let them know1 point

They take good care of their members. You can join them & learn to play brass or percussion or learn guard (like the old days, back when Drum Corps was a youth activity, not a resume enhancer for future HS band directors). The members learn to work as a team. Pioneer does what they do very well.1 point
