The Yokohama Scouts have announced on Facebook that they will be coming to the states, here is the schedule: Greendale, Wi Aug 5; Dubuque, IA Aug 6; Michigan City Aug 7-10 Indianapolis, IN.

They have 2 overage members, but in Japan, there is no age limit. They also have a lot of 14 and 15 year olds. They will compete international division at the big show, DCI told them that even if the members were all under 21, they would still be concidered international division, so the director decided that he would take a few long time members to the states with him to compete.

Scouts should take drums, they won drums last year here in Japan and have the same line, that was under DCI judging.

I have seen the Scouts about a week before they left, I think they will make an impact, great show, wish I could have gone with them to the states. Remember that they are used to playing indoors and on a winter guard size floor, a lot of work went into this show and they also have another completely different show for the season here in Japan when they get back with their full corps.

Gregg, I'm in Japan and spoke with the Director a few days before he left, he stated that even if all his members were under 21, DCI would still make them compete in the internationsl division, they have 2 members that are over 21 (23 and 24 i belive) and they will be competing in the internatinal division and division III.

The Scouts will be competing in div III but are also international division because one of their tenor players is over age. they left today and have a huge drumline. My opinion is that they are a little overbearing and drown out the pit at times, but these kids can play.

Preview show tomorrow in kawasaki, line up includes Phoenix Regiment, Tokyo Phoenix, The Yokohama Scouts and Yokohama Inspires. I'll be there.
