  1. I guess it must have been a living #### on earth then for your corps to be in that boring DCI show in Louisville. Why didn't you just say "no thanks" to DCI's invitation and do something much more exciting July 9th?
  2. Thanks for stepping in, ScribeToo. I was stating my opinion. Most everyone from the 70's thinks that the era of drum corps they were a part of is more important or was more difficult or more fun than anyone elses. Hey! Let us have some fun too with what we love about drum corps. All that I think was being pointed out was that the performances today are far more physically and musically demanding as well as some real thought given to visual and it's impact on the audience. Current members have all had some formal music training, music education or dance education. I don't even want to see the "60's" style of drum corps after seeing the 70's. Personally, I enjoyed the history lesson of how drum corps has evolved, but I don't think I would of liked performing those programs compared to what we're doing now. Thanks.
  3. I agree with skimannc1. I was like, where is the visual? Who chose those flags for some of those '70's and '80's corps? Who couldn't do that? The percussion sections didn't even have to march at all. Up and down the 50, and usually in the same tight formations. Brass sections in the '70's were to play loud facing the concert side and louder when playing backfield. Lots of intonation issues. Loud does not equal musicianship. But it was nice to see how drum corps evolved to the higher quality of musicianship and visual it is today.
