  1. Congratulations Vanguard Cadets! Congratulations to all the Open Class corps. What an exciting year! Good luck to all of you in the World Class Prelims and to those of you who make it to World Class Semis.
  2. Welcome back Columbians. I've got a Columbians button from 1973. One of my favorite corps from that era. Nice to see you on the field again.
  3. Have always enjoyed Open Class/Div.2-3 and these forums. I've been so wrapped up in Oregon's move to WC that completely overlooked this forum until today. Please forgive me, it won't happen again.
  4. Why is there nothing about this on the official DCI WEB site?
  5. Ha! We did Burt Bacharach in 1973. I loved it! Thanks for the review.
  6. I actually thought it was ridiculous to have open class quarter, semi and finals competitions in the first place. There weren't a lot of placement changes after quarters anyway.
  7. 5K corps members? There would be no one left to perform! Maybe half of that, including staff.
  8. First time at Indy for me. Sat in section 337, row 1 for the quarterfinals. Couldn't hear anything but a dull roar. Seemed like no sound actually made it directly to that point in the stadium . Really appalling actually. We eventually moved down to 143 where we got the full effect of the direct sound from the corps and the reverb from the ceiling. Much improved over section 337, except for the people in the stands (read below). For semis we sat in section 638, row 11. The sound was almost PERFECT! We were astonished. Every section could be heard clearly and there was barely any reverb. The view from up there was great too, except for the tall woman in front of us who leaned forward and obscured my view for most of the top 6. OFF TOPIC WARNING! I'd like to add that I'm really disappointed in the etiquette of some of the people in the stands. Talking continuously during performances, texting, getting up and down to pass things to people in other rows, continually kicking the backs of seats, loud wrappers and crunching nachos. One young kid sitting between her parents a few seats over from us had her feet over the seatback and was kicking the folding seat continuously for an hour. I made eye contact with her parents and they did nothing to stop the kicking. Thanks for ruining the show for me "fans". As much as I love this activity, I doubt I'm make the effort or incur the expense to fly from the West Coast to watch the World Championships in Indy again.
  9. Congratulations Oregon Crusaders! Wonderful show this year. My favorite for 2010 from either division. I'm not kidding. How do you guys do it? Quality drum corps is alive and well in the NW (At least in Oregon).
