there's so much music that a corps could use as a ballad...
ahh...
October (Whitacre)
An American Elegy (Ticheli)
Symphonic Metamorphosis: mvmt 3 (Hindemith)
I'll come up with more in a moment. maybe.
ahh let's see here...
Phantom 2003 - the show that got me into drum corps
Cadets 2000
Phantom 1996
SCV 1999 gave me shivers. heck, the entire show gave me the chills.
SCV 2000 - yeah, more chills.
Honorable mention-
I seem to enjoy the closer to...
Cavies 2002. yeah. the drill is what made this awesome. Music wasn't as emotionally involved as the others.
Let's see...
The Canyon (Phillip Glass)
Everything from Phantom 1996
the Millennium Celebration
Mikrokosmos by Bartok (Phantom 2003)
I'm sure there's some other stuff, but late nights prevent me from finding them.
I recall sometime during 95 cavies, during the percussion feature and the horn manuals, someone almost knocked their own hat over, and fixed it on the next horn flash or whatever. Sometime just before 6 minutes into the show.
