  1. A divided alumni is not going to do Jack. The Alumni needs to be brought back together. I believe there was a seat on the board for an Alum. I know there was! Then there has to be specific things laid out for the Alums to work as a unit. I know logistically it wont happen, But bring the Scouts home to Madison, Wisconsin. Get the community back behind them. Build your contributors locally. Or start saying the truth and be from Indiana and go after local there. Set some roots.
  2. I have not been on here too much, I get too angry at the so called experts. They watch drum corps on the TV ! They know so much! Well Madison show is not for me. I know the guys in the corps busted their backsides. Probably enjoyed the year. Its not like they we in first place last year and here they are. This is the placement that they know, this is what they are. You are only as good as your staff. Yes talent has a lot to do with it but heart and a great staff to pull it out of you is worth more. I think, and believe the older Alumni are angry because the present Scouts are not getting the same fighting chance we were given. When I marched, I had arguably one of the best brass arrangers ever in drum corps, one of the best percussion guys and The head guard instructor was an amazing talent. Near the Top in there field of expertise. Hands down one of the most flamboyant, Motivators of the brass line drum corps has ever seen, But he not only motivated the brass but everyone else right down to the bus drivers. These leaders, Mentors and life long friends made you better, made you want to be better than you might have been in another organization. I feel bad for the guys and angry and disappointed with the staff. you cant win the Indy 500 in a vw beetle, Also believe all the faux hype with its, you are letting the guys down if you say you don't like the show added to the passion of how can that be our 80th year anniversary show for the Men of Madison in those costumes. I have never seen such a division in the Scouts Alumni. Something must change somewhere, People, direction I don't know but willing to help. I have done a lot for the corps and the Alumni. On to bigger and better?
  3. Looks like Scouts Are close to the same score that SCV had around 4th of July.
  4. I dont know about laughing stock, costumes maybe, but i find the show just sad. Yes its getting better, but so is everyone else. I think the false hype is such b s . Oh thier making a move , going to catch this corps or that corps. They wont. A sad year to chalk up, Nothing on the guys! I am sure tgey worked thier backsides off. The show is not good, any decent members will move on to another corps! We are now a feeder system. Tell me, where is your brotherhood when a member will dump you at the first chance?
  5. Just a #### ant survey with no legitimacy.
  6. So your saying 15 or 16th? Is the best Scouts will do? How did Manderins jump so high? Boston?
  7. Ok, enough of all the BS, lets talk about the Scouts not your own agendas and how smart you are ! Is the Scouts show good enough to break top 12?. Know all other corps are killing themselves as well! I realize all members Scours included, are busting their behinds. All that included, can they jump 3-4 spots and who can they catch and pass?
  8. I know this show needs wholesale changes, but is there time in the new wgi ?? Is the staff talented enough to fix in weeks what took all winter? Plus as said before, everyone else is working their tails off to improve. How did we get here?
  9. Well, i believe you have some valid points, i have not liked the direction in a bit now. They had a reprieve When Mason was with them those 3 years or so and then things, artistcally and musically took a nose dive.
  10. sad what the yes men have let those two do.
  11. I have been away from this for a while. my rant, wow, this is not good
