  1. While that was pretty tasteless, nothing can possible top this on the list of all time worst marching music ideas... Paris High School's marching band had an ambitious idea for a half-time show. "Visions of World War Two" presented flags and music from each of the warring nations. For Germany, the Texas school's band played "Deutschland uber Alles" while the color guard waved a Nazi flag. The show wasn't quite the hit the band expected. It didn't help that it was presented at the start of Rosh Hashanah. James
  2. Interesting request here... I have an audition coming up for a Public Address Announcer position. I'd like to use the opening copy they read at all DCI shows (the whole welcome to wherever we are, tonight's corps, judges, etc., please don't use video cameras or audio recording stuff) as my piece if possible. Would anyone know how or where I could get a copy of the script? Thanks, James
  3. Saw the show in Ames, IA. About 50 people in attendance. No clapping or cheering from the audience. I so wanted to do the Vanguard yell but I didn't want to be "that guy" in the audience. Cause we all hate "that guy" when we get or CDs after finals. No problems with the audio or picture here, but you could definitely tell the difference in the quality of recordings. But the surprise of the night.... ...joining us in the theater was the "Voice of DCI", the one and only Mr. Brandt Crocker. I was hoping he would get up and announce each show instead of Michael "Chocolate Bath" Cesario. Good times had by all. James p.s. I hope God's voice sounds like Brandt Crocker's when I get to Heaven.
  4. Believe it or not... there are people in this world with the name "Joseph Smith". James Former Instructor of Mr. Moto
  5. So do I... In fact, I used to teach him how to march. B) James
  6. Some personal favorites overheard. 1999 Garfield Finals: "TAXI!" Crowd got a good chuckle out of that one at Camp Randall. 2000 Madison Quarterfinals: "Do it up Madison, we know the real deal". Followed by cheers. 2002 Santa Clara Vanguard Alumni Corps: "We love you Gail Royer, wherever you are!" Okay, the last one was me... I felt it was appropriate. b**bs James
  7. 5) 2000 Boston Crusaders 4) 1992 Velvet Knights 3) 1995 Madison Scouts 2) 1999 Madison Scouts and the number one loudest crowd response of all time (and I can't believe that no one else has mentioned this one) The 2002 Santa Clara Vanguard Alumni Corps!!!
  8. Sorry everyone...buyt they've been spoken for. Hope to see you all in Madison. James
