  1. Minne-Brass will also be back in 2014. We had most of our show ready in March, but unforeseen events ... Well, never mind.
  2. Great promo video -- good luck Dec. 8 and 9!
  3. Thanks for the great reviews. And I certainly remember videos of Mike DeMeo. Hell of a player! I keep telling Ponzo, and I mean it -- I wish I had his sound!
  4. Seriously, I played the whole 1812 just a month ago, and when I heard the shortened Start U version, it seemed like they played everything. What a great arrangement. What a wonderful organization. It's a pleasure to listen to them. And they work harder and smarter than any other group.
  5. I just want to say I welcome a new corps to DCA's ranks. I hope these youngsters can produce the sound of a mature DCA corps. Even if they don't measure up in that category, I'm sure they'll be a credit to our organization, and may well raise the bar for all of us. Hooray!
  6. Tina and I are so sad to hear this news, Fran. Our best wishes to you. She was and you are loved by so many in drum corps. - Roger and Tina
  7. Minne-Brass is playing original music by Todd Tanji and Andy Classen. No show title yet. The song titles are "Information Age," "In a Relationship (It's Complicated)," and "Count on the Blues."
  8. I guess it helped that I didn't play today! What else can I do to improve our score? (Don't say it!)
  9. I wanna see those 8/8 scores from Kenosha, WI! (Couldn't play with the corps today; had to leave for a gig back in the Cities.)
  10. Sure wish we could make it out there. Sounds like a great time! I've gotta order another Resonance. I played it for a friend on his birthday, and he loved it, so I had to give it to him! Sorry I had to rush by when I saw you in the stadium concourse. I had to catch my corps. We'll get out there to see you soon as we can, or on your next national tour! Thanks for the inspiration!
  11. Can't wait to see those scores. Thanks for reporting, Frank. No competition here in Minnesota, but MBI got to play for 600 screaming high schoolers.
  12. Waiting for that rankings update (so MBI can enjoy its week of glory!). For those ready to complain -- yes, we had two shows this weekend. But we had NO shows in July. On the other hand, it don't mean doo-dah. But we'll enjoy our 93.638 'til it gets crushed next week! Good luck to all!
  13. They made great use of their time, visiting the Statue of Liberty, and seeing Phantom of the Opera (together), and Chicago and Lion King (separately). Indianapolis last weekend, and then Racine coming up, followed by South St. Paul and St. Peter 8/22-3. Hmmmm, a successively less exciting itinerary.
  14. Just wanted to throw in that Blue Knights have kind of bored me most years, but this year's show was stunning. It had me floored. Let's see more of the same! Guard will toss kis next year!
