  1. Thank you Amber for describing in such eloquent words how so many of us felt during our time on the field.
  2. Not sure, but this one has always puzzled me. I wonder if there have been any other half point drops in a caption from semis to finals by one of the top 2?
  3. FYI - field vis scores for Star 1993: 9.8 semis, 9.3 finals How do you lose a half point in one night, in one category at that time in the season?
  4. There is a difference between North Carolina and Atlanta-hot compared to Arkansas and Florida hot. It's usually the major difference in humidity. 93 southern tour was unpleasant.
  5. Ah, free time at amusement parks! Those were the days!
  6. Funny enough, I recall performing at Hershey, PA in 1992. We were just getting to our first big hit of the show (the big arc), and this one dude, sitting in the stands right in the center section, stands up and raises TWO middle fingers to the entire corps and just continues to stand there until the cut off! I believe he was "complimenting" the corps by basically saying "that kind of sound should not be allowed, F U and your glorious sound!!!" Other members including Mr. Pink Elephant have correlating reports of seeing this that night as well. It definitely made up for some of the riff raff we had to deal with that summer.
  7. Ah, the memories of Preview of Champions at Vanderbilt in 1992 is rapidly coming back to me...
  8. I heard La Fiesta Mexicana was being considered. Signed, The sans Lead Baritone that did age out in 94....in an arena.
  9. I remember hearing vuvuzelas in the stands during the 1989 ACC Marching Band Championships in Scranton, PA. Vuvuzelas are so 1989.
  10. YUP. Semifinals - 9.8 Field Vis Finals - 9.3 Field Vis. And that's the ballgame folks.
  11. This has to be the funniest thing I've ever saw. Priceless. That is exactly how I felt in 92.
