  1. No seriously...I would like this whole thread removed. Someone else can start a new one. Pioneer deserves better than this
  2. Thanks again.....I sure feel like that too. However, the crowd on DCP is not open to that. I really am thinking of creating a new forum besides DCP for the non-haters, bashers, etc with a total different set of rules/guidelines and by invitation to take the trolls out. And indeed. Pioneer has always done what it does and I am very, very proud of that. All the 'new' corps hyped here are gone......Pioneer remains. As it is focussed on people, not on ego. Something DCP can learn from.
  3. I thank you for this posting! But I feel DCP has been taken over by, what we in the Netherlands would call 'Sour lemons'. They ruined this posting within minutes and you know.....it is not about me. It is about this activity. What if a kid who just got introduced to Drum Corps and thinks he might want to give Pioneer a try as it is a corps that welcomes new people reads this. They would turn from Pioneer and Drum Corps in general right away. I was the director of Color Guard Netherlands (CGN) for 10 years and held a clear position on positive energy over haters. Guess what. We grew the activity from 16 to 75 units in 10 years. And that in a country the size of Rhode Island. Anyway.....I hope the admins will delete this thread and my account soon. I was just here checking if they gave me any response yet. They are volunteers so I understand them very well. However, there is a group of people here who break down this website, individual corps and the activity as a whole. I am happy to say I am a positive human being with a true awareness of the activity around the world. Having been in it in Europe, Africa, Asia and North-America for many years...
  4. Xandandl is always on my back so......bye DCP. Please remove this topic and my account. I am leaving the kindergarten
  5. Please delete my account as soon as you can. I really hate the negative atmosphere here!
  6. To add on that....new stuff is happening. Pioneer has not been hyping at all this winter and only showing shots online of individual members (no group overviews). But what we know is that there will be males in the guard for the first time ever. Most important.....I have read many people complain the past few years that there was no storyline in the show. Or it was hard to discover. Well.....if they do it well (and I have no clue if they will), this should be a show with a clear story that everyone knows. Still comes down on how they bring it.
  7. Pioneer has seen membership increases more often and was capable of handling them financially at least...like the surge in 95-98 and in 2010. However it will be interesting to see what the QUALITY will be, as quantity is just one thing. Pioneer is known to have many inexperienced members since after the semifinal years. So that really interests me. The staff however has been in place for a few years now and that is something we haven't experienced for years now. So yeah.....I am really curious to see them come out.
  8. As there are many 'official' threads about corps, and I could not find one for Pioneer yet....here it is. We actually don't know much yet about the 2015 edition. All we know now is that this will be the largest Pioneer since 1998. So.....hope you are all as excited about Pioneer as I am.

  10. Agree! But this has been Pioneer/Roman philosophy for years. For those who did not read the original news item, here's the part we're talking about: ♣We loaned several tubas to Greendale High School who won the State Marching Band Championship in their class at the UW Whitewater Stadium. They also scored very well at the Bands of America Championships. RBJ “Roman Jr.” teaches visual for Greendale. ♣We loaned our tractor and equipment trailer along with several tubas and mallets to Waukesha North High School, who won their Wisconsin State Championship and also performed at bands of America. Seth Pearson teaches their color guard as well as Pioneer Alumnus Sandra Fugh, and Lansing Dimon is the Assistant Marching Band Director (as well as the school’s Orchestra Director). ♣We loaned trumpets and mellophones to Providence Catholic High School where Pioneer Guard Captain, Kelsey Arnony, instructs their color guard. ♣Bus #66 and #68 successfully helped transport the Madison Scouts Corps and Alumni to New York City for the Macy’s Day Parade. Besides cymbals and most of our horns, they marched over 400 people who lead Santa Claus through downtown New York. Roman, RBJ, and Dan Zaja were all part of the driving team. Our equipment semi-tractor was also used. ♣We again have loaned a bus to the Phantom Regiment for use at their camps and sectional rehearsals. ♣Alumnus, Sam Karafotis, (member #1799) Band Director for the Agoka High School near Tulsa, OK, is borrowing 2 mallet instruments from us for his band. ♣Several snares and bass drums are at the Cudahy Middle School for rehearsing a possible Pioneer/Cudahy concert drum ensemble next year in February. (PLEASE NOTE THAT CAMPS IN JANUARY, FEBRUARY, AND MARCH are at the MIDDLE SCHOOL!) ♣Dan Zaja and Roman transported the Blue Stars equipment trailer from La Crosse to Indianapolis with our semi-tractor to their rehearsal site there in Indianapolis. ♣Alumnus Robert Newman is repairing our 2 sets of bells and using 4 snares for his Christmas programs in Milwaukee. ♣Roman transported the Cudahy Band to a walk-a-thon fund-raiser and the school’s orchestra to several Senior Homes and Shopping Centers. ♣Always remember, “What goes around Comes around”…..We have benefitted from many, many people who have helped us when we were in need…..RB
