  1. <link removed> and topic closed, at the request of Academy Drum and Bugle Corps. Matthew - DCP FORUM SUPPORT TEAM
  2. A small up and coming thrid world :sshh:
  3. Whoa! People love to talk about this I guess, just give us the words Star and next and we'll just go at it like it's never bee ntalked about before. LOL.
  4. Good luck to all the members out there! I look forward to see you on the field for the last time. Let's do it up.
  5. Although I would love to bash The Cadets here, I just can't. There show ideas are growing on me and I can see were they are going with this. I think this well be amazing and in good old Cadets fashion, if it's not working change it. I'm pretty sure this part will change along with many other parts of the show to make it work better if it's not. I'll be one to say it because someone will sooner or later. How many of you that have been around with Drum Corps since the mid 80's or earlier liked Star '93 back then? Heck, how many people that have been around with Drum Corps since 1993 liked Star '93 back then? I'm not saying in anyway The Cadets are become Star, no one can do that. But people are making fun of Cadets like they did Star, and look at how we think of Star to day. I'm also pretty sure if Star had stayed a Drum Corps they would be doing even crazier and different things then The Cadets. And if Star were around today I would want to join them for that reason.
  6. Nice sound............. can't wait to see it.
  7. Like I said big heads! And I was going to say something nice about the leads. I will miss you guys.............. kind of.
  8. Borges, are you raging on the firsts? Because if you are I totally support you, but they did a good job even with there big egos in the way. The only thing was that you never did set the form so we had to guide to them and there overly sized heads, but they did a great job. Please remember Borges no one is getting on you for your marching, you're a great marcher everyone that's marched with you can easily say that. Maybe this year will be different, HAHAHHAHA, just kidding. But I do know if you go with the form a little more and not be as blunt about people being of there Dots things will go a lot smoother. You do have to admit though marching with the Baris last year is better then marching with the Tubas......... 7 8 9.
  9. It’s about a week or two before finials things start to click but they might be just a little off so they start going to form. When Caives do basics they concentrate on step size, but they still have to be behind the person in front of them. Sure they fix it in a different way but still a cover needs to be there. The cavies only do dot because they need the form to look right because they do extremely crazy fast drill moves, but once it’s in there muscles they go to form. It’s not a forbidden or uncommon to see a Caviler horn player look to were he is going, but in the end even the biggest dotwhores The Cavilers will go to form.
  10. Everything from the front sideline and the front hash is right, so if you count your steps from there you'll be on your dot. Everything from the back hash and the back sideline is off by a step and a third. You cannot evenly divide a football field into how ever many steps there are on a drill page. This is common knowledge in the Drum Corps world, and if you call yourself a good marcher you should know this. If you take a diagonal and half of it counts (with a proper 8 to 5) from the back hash and back sideline and the other half counts from the front hash and the front sideline the diagonal will be off by a step and a third in the middle. All good techs know this and teach it when learning drill, ask anyone in a top Div I corps or people in Academy, ECJ from 04, Spartans. How do you think BD, Cavies or Cadets do drill? They use the step and a third and if they didn't there drill wouldn't be as good. This is another big problem with Dot hunting/shopping/whoreing, lots of people don't know about this. So if the line is being set from the front and they a stepping off from the front hash and a person in the back goes to their dots on the drill page and steps it off from the back hash............. they're wrong. Not trying to rag on you or anybody, but you really can't call yourself a good/smart marcher if you've never heard about this or don't use this.
