Check out the link below. This is how we did the roll over. What we did was figured out how far each person would roll. Then you move that far away from a wall. You throw towards the wall to get used to how far to throw. Also, the reverse toss makes it much easier and much more graceful.

Update: I got all of the videos but 4 copied to DVD before the Beta player passed on. The loading mechanism broke so I am on the lookout for another one. Still have 4 to go plus I have a couple of people that are going to send me there Beta's so I can copy them too.

You guys would not believe what I got my hands on. A friend of mine found several Beta videos from WGI and DCI. He brought them to me today. They included 1978-1983 WGI and DCI original video along with some Texas State Color Guard Association tapes. I won a Beta player on Ebay and can't wait till it gets here. These tapes have not been played in over 20 years but have been well taken care of. :P

Since you were in the Cavaliers during those years, all I can say is Our guards nickname was Xerox because we copied everything you guys did. The only thing we did beyond what you guys did was we had a part in one of our shows where we did the toss, forward roll, and catch but we did the catch behind the back. Also, did a 1 and a half behind the back right handed while at the same time doing a 2 turn from a left handed toss and catch with right. After 20 years and about a hundred pounds, I can still do that trick but no more roll over stuff.

No, I haven't been to been to Big Spring since Mariah folded in 88. I went back to Snyder for homecoming and found out that one of the former band directors trashed all of the guard trophies that we won. We had a giant silver bowl trophy that we won a SWAC in 83 and that is the only one they kept. It really sucks.
