I looked through the whole thread and cannot believe Morgan Larson from the '85 and '86 Madison Scouts is not mentioned. He was unbelievable...especially the cadenza solo from '86. You talk about being hung out to dry...but he nailed it every single time. I marched Bluecoats that year, and we saw Madison a lot. I never heard him so much as waver a bit. As a fellow soloist of that same time period, I must admit...I never missed their show when we were in the same show because he was downright inspiring to listen to!!!

The Saints of Saginaw Junior Drum and Bugle Corps!!! Looking to start a junior corps serving the youth of York County and the rest of Central PA (Harrisburg, Lancaster, etc...). We will be reaching out to troubled teens, juvenile offenders, inner city disadvantaged youth with the love of Christ Jesus, drums and horns. We are looking for anybody who may have equipment of any type that we can use to get started.

I did four years of junior corps with the whole 6 to 12 hours of playing a day. I did the college music major thing. Then my life took a turn and now I am in full time ministry as a pastor, growing a marriage, raising two children the be Godly adults, and taking classes toward my masters. I hardly have any time to practice, but I still play in the Westshoremen Alumni and I play in church. I don't get to practice for a tenth of the time I used to, but after playing for more almost thirty years of my life, I have learned how to be incredibly efficient with what little time I have. I have learned more about my instrument and musicality than any 25 year old could dream. The "quality" lessons of age and experience far outweigh the "quantity" time of "not yet having a life." I play better now than I ever dreamed of at 25 and I am less than half a year from hitting 40. Another point that needs to be made in response to your earlier post is this. I'll take the entertainment value of listening to life experienced musicians who do what they do for the sheer purpose of enjoying themselves and entertaining the listener over the technical excellence of a less life experienced musician who has enough hours in his schedule to play with "good tone and technical proficiency" every time.

Your Biblical quotation is taken from within the first 11 verses of the eighth chapter of the Gospel according the John, commonly known as "The story of the Woman Caught in Adultery. In this story, the pharisees were not attempting to excuse adultery, nor were they trying to pander to "the culture" by making it a "wink wink nod nod" "just live with it" life choice. Both of which, have been the primary arguments on this board in favor of booing. When Jesus said, "let him who is without sin cast the first stone," He was making the point that sin is sin...without progressive levels of sinfulness, and that the only right to punish sin belonged to the sinless. In other words, the only person in the crowd that day who had the right to pick up a stone and throw it was Jesus himself. For that reason, I will now take two drastic steps that are rarely taken in forums such as this. First, I am humbly apologizing for my extremely rude and judgmental attitude in my earlier posts. I still whole heartedly feel that it is rude and insensitive to boo, but I should not have allowed my own disdain for their actions drive me to something as belittling as name calling. Second, I want to thank you and others who have pointed out my earlier flaws in character. And I want to especially thank you for using the Holy Word of God in doing so. One last, but important point. At the end of the story, Jesus does forgive the adulteress, but then admonishes her to "go and sin no more." I hope the booers will read to the end of the story. I'm curious...how long have you been a follower of Christ? It is refreshing to see people still using the Word of God as their compass and guide. Sincerely, Pastor Jeff Wilt

It is not hypocrisy at all Michael. If somebody steals they are a theif If somebody kills an innocent person they are a murderer If somebody cheats to get ahead they are a cheater If somebody boos they are a jerk. If I were to take a friend to a show and they booed a performance or a score or a placement, it would be the last trip to a show I would take with them. Also, as for the comments about posting to feel "special, all important, or relevant," I did not post for any of those reasons. I posted that people who boo are jerks because I think people who boo are jerks. Sometimes it is truly that simple. And anyway...I thought people who needed to feel "special, all important, or relevant" became writers. (Don't flip out...I truly just meant that one in fun...I love your writing.) In all seriousness, Michael, we have both been within and around this activity for a long time, and this booing thing has been a black eye for a long time. Maybe I overreacted...but I've simply had enough. The quarter finals example, for me, was the straw that broke the camels back.

People who boo are jerks, and many of them have even gone so far as to post proof of such all over these boards in an inane attempt to defend themselves. It is utterly juvenile and devoid of any class whatsoever. If you boo, and you are proud of it, then fine, but at least have the cahones to simply admit you're a classless jerk who doesn't really care about anybody but yourself. It's not like it's possible for any of us to think you're more of a jerk than we already do. If anything, your honesty in admitting you're a jerk might be mildly redeeming.

I don't know about the rankings...but I do know that Carolina Crown could have done their show 10 times and I wouldn't feel like I wasted 20 bucks tonight. Their show is awesome, entertaining, challenging, entertaining, excellent, entertaining, and did I mention that they were entertaining. Every show had "something" that I enjoyed, but Crown had the only total package I enjoyed.
