  1. Following on from the "action shot" theme..... Joelesh photography, are they not supposed to be putting their entire back catalogue on their data base ? ive been checking every month and they are still only back to 2000. At this rate i'll be very old by the time they get to me
  2. Yes i agree you earn your spot, but the majority of vets dont automatically suck once the seasons over or turn into visual monsters, afterall they have the knowhow and experience of what it takes to be a member of corps X ..and staying on top of work required to stay in great playing shape ? i guess this is the a sign of the times. The period of time at the end of 90 and to when i returned i dont think i even picked up a horn, because i didnt have one of my own and wasn't involved with any corps or playing ensembles.
  3. Fair point, but the staff would already know a returning vet who wasn't cutting it in the previous season so they(the staff)could just say no to that or those individuals and not tar all vets with the same brush ?
  4. Ive just found out that vets have to re-audition for their spots ???? A two year SCV vet i know of has got to audition ? why ? So potentially you could get a line of rookies,do you not think consistency of experienced returning vets is the key to a solid line, and do you think SCV's policy of fair and equal try outs for all has had a detremental effect on their quality ? Im just interested, seems crazy to me.I went back for my age out year and literally turned up and grabbed a horn off the truck.
  5. Is it true that PR and Cavies make you pay for an audition pack that is posted to you so it cant be e-mailed around ? That profiting off the backs of kids wanting to live the dream. !
  6. as for the original thread topic, PR really cranked one out finals night,we were toe to toe with them all the way but they did something special that night.PR's one of my all time favorite corps(obviously apart from my own at the time of course)but i gotta hand it to 'em
  7. Just no more wavey lines please its been done to death now. <**> ,the point being i can see elements of cavies drill that have been done since 89 every year since.
  8. When did corps start naming their shows to tie in with their concepts. I cant think of any before 87 ie Pictures at an exhibition from SCV Now days the concepts and names of shows are common place and seem to get more and more bizzare and out of left field, but when did it all begin ?
  9. Come hither and sell us your wares.Theres a market ready and waiting.
  10. I have been reliably informed that at finals there were campainers for the abolishion of amps out in force with some killer t-shirts which were a red warning triangle with a mic emblem crossed out. I WANT ONE,WHERE CAN I GET ONE ????
  11. I haven't had the pleasure yet,but which Ave Maria is it,there's hundreds of Ave maria's
  12. I know i have already posted about Freelancers memories but i forgot the most impotant one. 1990 was my rookie year in BD, and also it was my first ever trip to the US,i'd never seen a DCI corps in the flesh so every one of my senses were hightened,i was like an over excited school boy where everything was WOW Freelancers was the very first corps i saw live,1990 at the pavillion. Those opening chords to Batman and then the first hit took my face off.Ill never forget that.
  13. ...and tell me,whats the story with the escorting guard chicks everywhere they went by other Freelancer members ? i recall always seeing a guy in uniform arm in arm with a guard member they couldn't all be couples could they ?
  14. I have a foggy memory of a small show somewhere in Oregon 91 where we had an "incident" with Freelancers on the retreat block. It was one of those stand your ground disputes/feet on the yard line, elbow to elbow pushing and stamping. I remember it got pretty heated, lots of abuse flying around, both DM's had to get involved.
