  2. Hey everyone in Vegas, With the unbelievable line up at the Phoenix show this year, I'm confident that somebody from Vegas will be making the trip. 3. Well, DCI finally did something in marketing on CNN but it was a negative article. So Be It. DCI has no earthly idea how to market this phenominal activity and have hired the lamest person ever, to head up the dept. One of the biggest reasons they continue to lose corps, fail to fill their regional championship seats and had ESPN back out on their broadcasts. The Indianapolis Star has called me on two occasions to address issues with DCI management. They were surprised to know that DCI was headquartered in their city. They've watched for the past 30 yrs as corps after corps folds, and yet have no plan in place to save their own skin with assistance in management, business development, etc. They simply cannot see the forrest for the trees. I hope the G7 is successful without destroying DCI, but if that's the case, it's the fault of EVERYONE for not standing up to DCI and letting them know what the people really want. Sitting at a computer with an annonymous name is chicken crap. All of the predictions I made in another post called 'DCI 2030" are coming true. Read it. My name is Randy N. Warner. I'm a 56 yr old marketing professional and ADORE the drum corps activity. I don't get to drumcorpsplanet often, so contact me directly at 21stcares at citlink dot net.
  4. Las Vegas Marching Arts is currently holding auditions for SYNDICATE our competitive winter guard program for 2011. We've kept the membership fees low. $150 being our first year. This also gives everyone a FREE one year membership to our all age brass and percussion corps for parades and convention openings for 2011 at no additional fee. We are looking primarily for HS graduates or for those who could not participate in their current HS program this year. See http://lasvegasmarchingarts.org or email Peter at tease4life42 at yahoo dot com
  5. Founded in 2007, we are building a more successful board of directors. The most important professional assistance we could use is someone who has started a corps and can give us guidance - such as a professional business development person. (fundraising, corporate sponsorship and potential grant opportunities ) Also ALWAYS seeking experienced board members who have started a large multi million dollar business successfully in the past. See http://lasvegasmarchingarts.org/ and Email Randy directly <randy@lasvegasmarchingarts.org> or call 928-767-4895 Thanks so much.

  7. Las Vegas Marching Arts has some really good kids who are trying to form ''Las Vegas Blvd'' brass and percussion corps. Our local school district is financially strapped and won't even allow us to use these percussion instruments nor contras during summertime. Need 2 bass drums, 2 quads, 2 snares and 2 contras. We have 11 performances here locally this summer to raise money, but can't even begin the process of performance without these items. PLEASE HELP. See www.lasvegasmarchingarts.org/honor.htm 928-767-4895 randy at lasvegasmarchingarts.org
  8. Las Vegas Marching Arts, Inc is seeking experienced color guard instructor for our first season of ''24/7'' this year. Our show is ''Oceans 10 - before the heist'' A comical look at some wanna be bank robbers who have yet to perfect their skills. If you are in the greater Las Vegas Area and wish to help with our kids this season, there is pay involved. Please email randy at lasvegasmarchingarts.org or call 928-767-4895
  9. Las Vegas Marching Arts Seeks Regional Reps! August 4, 2008 Las Vegas, Nevada. Las Vegas Marching Arts, Inc. announced today that they will be interviewing area and regional representatives to assist in recruiting and referrals for their newly formed corporation that hopes to field a brass and percussion corps in Las Vegas reports Randy Warner, President. "The relationship with the Las Vegas Marching Arts, Inc. (Silverado Brass and Percussion Corps) with the rest of the nation is of utmost importance to us for these initial years of successful formation and top level membership. We are scheduling phone interviews with interested parties in any and all areas of the country who seek a seat on our board of trustees and become agents. There will even be some financial benefits in it for the right people" Warner said. The level of what we hope to achieve will not happen simply with a wing and a prayer and we need to begin to develop a top notch network and infrastructure if we hope to accomplish this by summer of 2010. It will cost the representative and trustee member nothing. LVMA, Inc. will provide business cards, their own ''@lasvegasmarchingarts.org'' email address and even offer incentives for excellence in those who pass our audition process. We are seeking the best of the best and are planning to field a first rate competitive corps with a minimum of 100 members. Our focus is on high school graduates and our first year will not see a memberhip fee for participants!! What's the potential for these reps and trustees? Limitless!!!! Looking in Atlanta, Boston, Cincinnati, Oklahoma, St Louis, Omaha and all regions not already serving an existing corps. Warner states that "this is only the beginning of their aggressive recruiting and expansion strategy – and as the corps grows in number and experience – I see many more projects with unlimited potential for the activity." Call Randy N. Warner President/Founder at 928.767.4895 at your convenience or email him randy@lasvegasmarchingarts.org .
  10. Las Vegas Marching Arts is proud to announce that 'Silverado' will be the first ever drum corps from this state. We plan to field our first open class corps for limited tour in 2010. This organization is moving forward to ensure a solid foundatioin and an infrastructure that will help to support and promote this growing youth music education organization for years to come. We need someone to help develop our booster club, guide us through 'board development', be an advisor for our financial growth and investments and more. Please feel free to contact Randy through the website lasvegasmarchingarts.com and offer suggestions, guidance, volunteer time and more. He can also be reached at 928-767-4895 21stcares@citlink.net
  11. GOOD EVENING AND WELCOME TO RUSSELL KANSAS FOR THE 2030 DCI FINALS WHERE ALL 8 REMAINING CORPS IN AMERICA COMPETE FOR THE TITLE. It really doesn't have to be this way. But, in nature, way too many people who honestly love something, just simply do too little to ensure it's success and it falls to the side and dies out. By 2030, DCI Could very easily: ---totally collapse due to lack of creative initiatives OR ---become nearly half as big of a phenomenon as NFL. It is absolutely possible. It is human nature that when you govern yourself, you will NOT place new demands upon yourself and cannot see the mistakes you make. The governace they at DCI place upon themselves simply allows the drum corps to cease to exist while not doing enough to publicize existing corps and events to increase the numbers or improve the activity. I'm a fat ugly 54 yr old man who ADORES drum and bugle corps. I have a cabinet full of video tapes, cassettes, DVD's cds and I watch and listen to them DAILY. I have loved drum corps for 40 yrs and watched the activity fail to grow throughout this time. This means that I am also old enough to remember the very first super bowl. What a stupid concept that will NEVER work people thought. Every HS and every college has football plus the pros. Why would anyone watch this? I mean afterall, most Americans were sitting in front of their TV's watching Miss America pageant. Because the NFL thought big and had creative people who weren't afraid to dream, it is now what it is - H U G E !!!. Think of where these two entities fall in the popular TV viewing of Americans now. Miss America is simply NOT on the American radar any longer. THEY RESTED ON THEIR LAURELS. DCI is soon to follow. Example: DCI goes to Pasadena. ''Hollywood'', the land of dreams, where every producer, screenwriter, documenatarian, director, TV show, movie and reality show lives and works. There was virtually nothing on local TV or print, no drum corps appeared on any nationally televised programs and Dr. Phil, Ellen and Ryan Seacrest radio program were all very interested but were all declined by DCI. WHY? According to DCI, it may interfere with their negotiated agreement with the Food network. WOW! Did you see the phenominal coverage DCI got on the food network????? Me neither. DCI has no workable program in place, to help guide those wishing to form their own drum and bugle corps. Making contact with DCI to ask questions will yield many broken promises and excuses of how ''busy they are'' and can't spend the time you request from them. ''Board Development'' course would be welcome. PUBLICITY THAT ACTUALLY MATTERED WOULD BE PHENOMINAL. Should Dan Acheson be making his current salary? Absolutely YES. He should be making 10 times MORE than he makes now. But, he should not have to work 10 X harder - just smarter. He should also have a full time staff of 20-30 more people who take this seriously and go out and market this activity to businesses and the media so that the activity GROWS. This needs to turn around and do so quickly. Knowing that 15 drum corps will start up this year and only 1 will see it's first birthday, I must give kudos to AZ Academy, VK and Carolina Crown for doing the 'impossible' and only praying my attempt will be almost as successful as they. Thanks to Pacific Crest, I'm now working on Board Development and more. This was not meant to be viewed as a 'b**ch-fest' but only to show that discussion NEEDS to be on the very success and continuation of this organization and activity or it could easily be too late. Do I have ideas? ABSOLUTELY and I can tell you, although most of them may well be rediculous once planned out, many would benefit DCI tremendously. Sadly, nobody in DCI is open to any new or creative thoughts. There is NOBODY out there that loves this activity more than I do. But to love something this much and not be allowed to speak to the decision makers is really painful when you know you can help. I tell you, that MY world is a MUCH better place with DCI than without them. But, to whom much is given, much is expected and DCI in it's current state has fallen much too short.
