  1. I'd give you mine if I still had it. The only problem is it would be a bit charred as it went up in smoke while on tour when our uniform truck caught on fire in the middle of tour...lol
  2. This is the best place to post your request... https://www.drumcorpsplanet.com/forums/index.php?/forum/16-dcp-marketplace/
  3. I leaned CPR when I was 17. Honestly, it has been so long I think I wouldn't be much help these days. I definitely should get a refresher. This should be something that is offered to ALL the corps members and staff in interest of member safety if not already provided.
  4. After reading in another thread today, I've been thinking about the incredible impact brass instructors have on our musical journeys, and it's got me wanting to hear more about your personal experiences. Instead of focusing on a specific instructor, I'd love for all of us to come together and share our memorable moments with brass instructors throughout our musical endeavors. Whether it's a valuable lesson you learned, a funny anecdote, or an inspiring memory, please feel free to contribute. Your stories will not only entertain but also provide insight and motivation for all of us. So, who's up for sharing their own brass instructor stories? My memory: I had the incredible experience to learn under the tutelage of Robert W. Smith, a legend in our activity (may he rest in peace). It was an incredibly mind blowing experience that I've have never forgotten all these years later. Words cannot even express my gratitude. A true legend and incredible brass instructor among his other many talents.
  5. I know you were not talking to me specifically. I have been accused of having the mob mentality from Boston on many occasions in the past from Crown fans, so I will chime in here. Some (not all) Crown thread posters are toxic towards others who come into their little thread and read posts. Their negative angst is very apparent and quite vocal. So as far as some of the Crown fanbase is concerned, they are irrelevant IMO. I will continue to enjoy Crown from a competitive standpoint, but definitely not some of their fans.
  6. It is with heavy heart that I learn here today and want to remember and honor the life of a true musical genius, Smith, who touched many lives in countless ways through his extraordinary compositions and dedication to the world of music and drumcorps. I have fond memories when he taught us when I marched drumcorps. Indeed, a true inspiration. My deepest condolences go out to his family and friends during this difficult time. May Smith's soul find eternal rest, and may his music continue to inspire generations to come.
  7. WOW! Thanks BLOO !!! This show's concept is brilliantly weird in the most captivating way possible. I would have never thought that this performance could take me on such a unique journey...
  8. Mandarins is officially my favorite show of the season....this show is such FIRE!!! ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT !!!
  9. Having participated and been a paying fan now for decades I will say this... The atmosphere at Allentown's DCE shows is unparalleled. The energy of the crowd, combined with the historical significance of the venue, creates an electric ambiance that elevates the performances that you just can't get at other venues having attended many of them from the tour. As a corps performer, I fed off this energy, and delivered my most memorable show of the season when I marched at this venue...
  10. From about the 3 minute mark to the end of this video was absoluely inspiring. What Incredible passion by a TRUE BLUE GIANT !! ! !!!
  11. I'd like to raise my virtual glass in a toast to the Boston Crusaders brass and percussion, along with their spectacular guard, for their performance at Allentown was a true musical "Conquest" that will be etched in the annals of Crusader history. May their journey toward finals continue to "Inspire". May their horns soar high above the crowd much like sea birds that circle above a ship's mast. May the percussive and visual triumphs, be as legendary as the white whale that once haunted the dreams of Captain Ahab...
  12. Sounds like a pretty easy fix and I agree with you about breaking the boat apart as whale is passing over it...then again it could be seen as a sort of victory jump/dive...
  13. Kudos to the BAC brassline for their exceptional performance and securing a 1st place brass score at the San Antonio regional! Your sheer brilliance and musical prowess have left me in awe.
  14. I am sure no one(especially the folks at BAC) will be offended if the show is not your taste. What I find easier to do is find one thing at least in every corps show that I can like...that seems to help...
  15. I guess I won't say how many times I rewind to watch and listen to their performances...puts this number to shame...lol
  16. I am glad I live in near Atlanta now and will not have to trek up that mountain(hill). I DO miss the funnel cakes though. The only real food vendors I used to frequent were next to the upper stands...although those bathrooms were at the bottom of the mountain(hill)...
