I'm confused, how did Academy pass Mandarins? When I do the averages it's still Mandarins then Academy. Just looking for clarification. Thanks

Would someone PLEASE teach the corps how to properly wear a shako?! It is really annoying to see kids with hats that are too #### big for them! OK, I'm done, putting my soap box away.

It's reading threads like this that should put an end to all of the "drum corps is not drum corps anymore" threads. Well said everyone!

Not a first. Choctawhatchee HS had two guards in World finals several years ago.

It would depend on the copyright holder. One of the publishers that I have dealt with requires me to ask permission to perform the music every year. They always say yes and haven't charged me after the initial cost to arrange.

Hmm, I didn't see anything that said "all new staff." It sounds to me like they are trying to increase the size of the staff for better educational opportunities for their members.

I've read many, but not all, of the posts in this topic. My thoughts on the whole thing are this . . . there were more people watching some great drum corps this summer! Paid, free, VIP, staff, members - who cares! There were more people watching! It might actually be better for DCI if many of these people were free/discounted tickets attending for the first time. Maybe next year they fork out a little more money and sit in better seats and another group of new people fill in the free/discount seats??

Having seen BDB, SCVC, Mandarins and PC I don't see either of these OC corps beating these two WC corps. Yes, BDB and SCVC are both VERY good corps, BUT they really are a step below Mandarins and PC. It will be interesting and fun to watch!

The "system" is not flawed. It's just basic mathematics.

Just watched the video. I can't wait to see them on the field in a few weeks. Those uniforms, both corps proper and guard, are STUNNING! The best new uniform of the season, in my opinion.

Best thing to do is spend A LOT of time hanging out with a successful corps to see the behind the scenes operation. Ray Mar with the Mandarins gave me the best advice ever when I was researching how to start PC. Great guy who hides nothing. I would also recommend Stuart at Pacific Crest. Great grounded individual who will tell you everything you need to know. But first, learn to write in complete sentences. Seriously, if you want to attract members and supporters you must at least sound intelligent.

First - great photos! Second - after seeing PC uniforms "up close" in the photos I have the same feelings I did when I saw them in person - jacket is fine, shako is UGLY!

Fans who believe that they are the reason the corps exist.
