  1. SCV is a breath of fresh air in terms of design, despite less visual demand. It really paces out the top 8 well when there this kind of variety and that does make it enjoyable for me.
  2. Yeah, '95 American Quintet. High visual demand that year. No win but it didn't help that a handful of Cadets fell.
  3. Agreed. Usually they do nothing placement wise.
  4. The retractable roof at Lucas Oil will probably be kept closed because of rain chances. If it is kept closed once, it would have to be for all 3 nights for an equal acoustic environment. If finals is there for the next 9 years, it will almost certainly influence design tastes and horn/drum books alike. I'll take rim shots for $200, Alex. . .
  5. There is a dichotomy with this one- people who like the classic yet modest approach, and those that preferred their more aggressive, symphonic show of recent years. I [truly] enjoy this show for what it is, despite probably being out of championship contention and not quite measuring up to the boys from Garfield a few decades earlier. . .but that's for another thread?
  6. Performer- Camp Randall Spectator- anywhere that serves brats! finals broadcast- Citrus Bowl, Orlando. . .not the safest but a great hi-cam angle!
  7. fwiw Jupiter is not my first choice in quality brass playing. I think the package to PR included sponsorship privileges as well as opportunities for their staff to design/modify the horns to their tastes.
  8. SCV '89 company front, horn and battery tilt to the box then forward march. Pure charisma.
  9. Agreed. Agreed. . .myself included. Agreed, especially when making a value call across different visual styles and approaches to playing e.g. Cavaliers and BD marching, or brass playing- Madison ('95) and Crown ('08).
