  1. Ouch! 6th Street Regiment – Austin, TX (Start up open class) http://pep.si/jJSgL7 text 107041
  2. Hi all, We could really use your help! We're falling rapidly in the rankings and need more votes! Voting is not over until the end of the month, so we still have a lot of time, but please don't wait until the last minute! We, and the other open corps involved, all need your continued support in this endeavor!
  3. Thank you so much for this! Sometimes it feels like we are lost in a sea of nonprofits seeking funding! I highly encourage everyone to vote for each of these causes every day! You get 5 votes per day online! You can also text a vote in (for double the votes) for each cause! Voting lasts until the end of June, but please don't wait until the last minute! edit: spelling
  4. Thanks, Cas! WE do vote for the Muchachos! We don't always publicize it, but we're in there voting for you, Troopers, Genesis, and our friends at TXI Winterguard! Thank you and the Muchachos for your support!
  5. Thanks Piper! If you use Pepsi products, look for the ones with Yellow Caps. These are Power Votes which count as extra votes. We just had someone use a 50 vote cap for us! We need all the votes we can get to provide horns and front ensemble equipment for this corps! Every vote counts! There are two ways you can vote: One: text 107041 to this number: 73774. Standard text messaging rates apply. Two: visit http://refresheveryt.../austinstarspaa (or this shortcut: http://pep.si/jJSgL7 ) and click the “vote for this idea” button. This method requires that you create an account on Pepsi’s “refresh everything” website, but you can also find other causes to vote for. You can vote using both methods one time per day (2 votes total per day, per person). Voting lasts until the end of June.
  6. Thanks guys! We're slowly starting to move up the ranks now! Please continue to vote each day, and spread the word to your family and friends!
  7. There are a couple in the Allentown area. Check out StarCross and Classics (both in Allentown, both on facebook, and both have websites also). Schools don't allow outside members as per WGI and TIA rules. You have to be a student attending the school (or school district) to participate. If your daughter is homeschooled, there may be some allowances for that, but if she just goes to a school without a guard, she'll have to join an independent group.
  8. We're in 89th place! Please Help-- only the top 10 ideas get funding! We need your votes! http://www.refresheverything.com/austinstarspaa and click the "vote for this idea" button. AND text! text 107041 to this number: 73774. Standard text messaging rates apply. You can vote online and also by text each day. (two votes per person, per day!) Also, ask your friends and family to vote also!
  9. Regarding this debate, In a side note, we have a survey on our website dealing with this same situation. We have been trying for slightly over a year now to start a drum corps in central Texas. We've toyed with the idea of being all-age. We've toyed with the idea of being under 22. Now we're investigating what the people in the activity and in the area actually want. If you visit our website, a little "pop up" window will ask you to take our survey. It's more so intended for people in Texas and specifically central Texas, but if you'd like to voice your opinion on it, feel free. As for us - we'd be happy to field of corps of any caliber with any age range at this point! It's nice to get 40 people in the door, but that's just the start!

The last piece of the puzzle is to pull in a qualified brass caption head for 6th street regiment! If you are interested in helping get a new corps off the ground and sounding GREAT, please contact corps director Rob Galindo at 6threg@gmail.com or fill out our online staff application at http://6threg.weebly.com.
