  1. Just watched the video clips and I also watched the corps that your trying to ##### out, Crown. As ever, Phantom are doing a stellar performance. That's how they are, impeccable and professional. To us drum corps perfectionists that's the way to go. To the average Joe in the street, its pompous and too regimented. I would guess most people would rather watch Crown as they seam to be enjoying it..... at the end of the day they are getting paid for it, shouldn't they play for the paying audience. Your plain wrong for calling out a quality organisation like crown for being unprofessional.
  2. I don't think i will ever tire listening to earth song. My favorite chart this year!
  3. I think if Crossmen do make it this year we will start to see them rise through the ranks in upcoming seasons. Texans may feel they can get their top 12 fix a little closer to home. I truly hope Crossmen do it. Go Bones!
  4. In no particular order ( after the first one ) Crossmen 92 Cadets 89 Phantom 89 Blue Devils 94 Vangard 98 Madison 88 So many to mention but that will do for now.
  5. Its all a bit hush hush but The Company are involved with the closing ceremony. My understanding is it isn't DC as we know it. Apparently it is very cool. Time will tell.
  6. I actually love this idea. Reminds me a little of the paper rolls thrown after Phantom performances
  7. It takes someone of chucks stature to point out, they are who they are and they do it better than anyone else on a very regular basis. Sorry mate, but this comment smacks of elitism and snobbery. The notion that one should defer in their personal appreciation entertainment value of show because of what someone else up on the ladder of educational pedigree and experience thinks, frankly doesn't alter one bit my personal opinion. What someone else likes is in their personal domain. I don't go there. What I like is in my domain. They don't go there with me. One's pedigree in all this is not worth spit. Maybe its because I'm a just the old fashioned cranky, contrarian sterotypical American here on this, but one's pedigree never impressed me much at all when it comes to one's personal music likes and dislikes. Nobody has a lock on " the truth " when it comes to what is enjoyed in a Performing Arts performance. Thats how I see it anyway. This Chuck's " opinion " above on entertainment value is no more valuable than anyone elses on here. I respect his take and observations. But I do not... repeat, do not... defer to it. That said, under the current judging standards and criteria utilized I can perfectly understand why the Blue Devils placed first last nite. It was a deserving 1st place win for them, imo. But was it my most entertaining show of the nite. No. Not even close. Not sure how you arrived at elitism and snobbery but no matter. My take on it is BD isn't everybody's cup of tea ( gone all British there) but almost every year they bring an exceptional product and usually rank in the top 3 and they do it with class. Personal opinions aside they are dominant in most aspects of DC. It isn't just what they bring to the field its the management and planning they must go through to always be a challenger. If i had my day all over again, would I march Devils?..... No. I am Crossmen through and through always will be. Elitist and a snob i am not.
  8. Well this thread is a welcome to the eyes. all too often i come on here and BD get's thrashed for being consistently outstanding, it happens in the UK as well. It takes someone of chucks stature to point out, they are who they are and they do it better than anyone else on a very regular basis. Nice that BD get some love. totally over due. Let me go back and green + Chuck On a side note to Chuck...... Help my beloved bones find those elusive tenths to break the top 12
  9. It looks kinda right, Crossmen's name back in the top 12 just makes sense, its been way too long. I only hope I'm saying this mid august !!
  10. Wow.... show this family we support her albeit from afar. if i could multiplus this post i would. Everyone show support by doing the same. I would love to know progress reports of this courageous girl. Stay strong.
  11. outstanding and what a full sound!! if they sound like that on the move, finals is a cert.
  12. That is exactly what i do.... I'm not a stalker honest
  13. I also don't like 2013 theme.... can't see them making finals
