  1. Hello everyone! Ok.. Sooo I have registered for my shows, and I have done my captions. How do I get to see my name listed on the Corps members list? Then how do I add one of those cool avatars that everyone has next to their name? BTW, Best of luck to everyone this season!
  2. Ummm... Sorry to tell you this, but... The BEST Teal did in drums all season last year against EVERYONE in World Class was 17th. That was in San Antonio, and Surf wasn't there. At the other BIG shows later on they were: 20th Place in drums in Atlanta and 20th place in drums in Quarter Finals. I KNOW they tried as well as they could, and I TOTALLY support Teal and EVERY corps no matter how big or small. However, Teal's drums didn't HURT their scores, but they didn't help move them up overall placement wise either. In closing, this year, I wish EVERY corps the very best. That's why EVERY year at finals I give EVERY corps a standing "O". To make it all the way to the end of the season, they deserve at least that! Just my 2 cents, with a couple of facts sprinkled in...
  3. Are Platinum and Impulse going to finals this year? Well I can not speak for Impulse, but Platinum IS making plans to not only GO to finals this summer, but we are going there to compete in Open Class as well! Platinum is waiting until our DCI Evaluation, but we have EVERY intention of showing everyone in DCI what we can do! We will also be sharing some exciting announcements about the Corps on here soon too! So hang on, and watch us shine!
  4. I LOVE cymbal lines, and I am planning on having one at Platinum this summer as well!

  7. Well 3rd and 10... You of course are entitled to your opinion. I will not get into a debate on this subject. But, know this, If you ARE a fan of Drum Corps, then you know how hard it is to actually get a corps ON THE FIELD. Don't believe me? Ask the 100's of groups that are no longer around. We are doing our best to give these kids a positive educational experience. I was not part of this program in the seasons prior to this one, and frankly I don't care about the past. All I want to do is make sure these kids have a GREAT experience this upcoming summer. By the way, If you are around this summer, please feel free and stop by our warm up and say hi. I always appreciate meeting fellow Drum Corps fans.
  8. Well, our goal as an organization like many others this coming season IS to make it out to finals. On a personal note, I look forward to having the kids share their personal and learning experiences with me. These along with the education each member will receive from marching a season of Drum Corps at ANY level, is something they will take with them for rest of their lives. And at the end of the day isn't THAT whats important? -Charlie Dolar- -Percussion Caption Head- -Platinum Drum & Bugle Corps-
  9. We at Platinum are very excited to welcome to the Platinum family Charlie Dolar as our 2012 Percussion Caption Head. Mr. Dolar brings a wealth of experience in the Drum Corps activity to us, and we are very excited to welcome him to our team! When asked his feeling on the subject Mr. Dolar replied, "I am excited for the chance to bring this ensemble to the next level and beyond" when he was asked about his expectations for this season, he went on to say "I am also looking forward to working with a GREAT bunch of members and staff, as well as the opportunity to show the world what we can do!" Platinum is also pleased to announce Mr. Adam Goldson as our 2012 Brass Caption Head. We are also pleased to welcome Alan Perry as our 2012 Visual Caption Head as well. We'd also like to welcome back Mr. Derrick Johnston as our percussion arranger and consultant. Platinum is also pleased to add Mr. Ed Warren to our 2012 Design Team and as a consultant. With their experience in the marching arts we are excited to have them as part of our staff. Come be apart of something new this season, come to Platinum, and watch us shine! Keep watching for more staff additions! Platinum Drum Corps www.platinumdrumcorps.org
