  1. Ryan, if you were a bit older (OK.... a lot older....LOL), you could have dropped in on a Sunrisers rehearsal at that post, circa mid-1970's, through 1978. Then there were the music/drill rehearsals at the hangars at Floyd Bennett Field. It was ALWAYS cold there, even in the spring months. We'd leave NJ for rehearsal at the hangars on a mild day in April or May, carrying our winter coats, gloves, hats, etc. Our neighbors would give us that "WTF???" look. Fran
  2. I love the ticket prices.... three dollars for a reserved seat. Times, indeed, have changed! Fran
  3. STOP THE PRESSES...... THE RENEGADES ARE MULTI-KEY!!!!!!! Fran
  4. Was that the one with Mike Snow serving as the pole? That was hilarious! Fran
  5. A bunch of corps..... the ones that I can think of off the top of my head: Buccaneers Bushwackers Caballeros Brigadiers Hurricanes Crusaders Govenaires Lakeshoremen Minnesota Brass Again those are the ones I can think of....hopefully I got 'em right. Anyone else, feel free to add to the list! Fran
  6. I've been told that I get in for free with a Hawaiian shirt.......LOL Looking forward to Saturday and the annual springtime tradition in Baltimore..... the Dixie Stinger!!!! Fran
  7. Yes!!!!! Looking forward to seeing you and Donna, Tony! Fran
  8. If the criteria is winning DCI numerous times, I'd had to guess Blue Devils instead of Phantom. Fran
  9. Cadets are one, I'm pretty sure. They missed Finals in '74. Fran
  10. I skipped the senior-class Mass held the night before my high school graduation in 1976 to go to the Bridgemen's Tournament of Stars show in Bayonne.... the Bridgemen's first appearance in their new "banana" uniforms. My mom, who was a drum corps fan, nonetheless was not pleased that I missed the Mass. Fran
  11. Scott, I'm glad you're back for this year... yes, please do your best to break something!!!! The missus and I both plan to rejoin the pit for next year's show. Fran
  12. Holy mackerel....Jim Kyle in Australia. That place will never be the same!!!! Jim and his wife Lisa are great people...we'll miss 'em here in the States... but hey, it might be a good excuse to get to Australia to visit! Fran
  13. What Adam said. Sun's management is doing the right thing, IMO...making sure the organization gets stronger, so the foundation is put in place for future success. I hope to see a bigger and better Sunrisers corps back on the field in 2009! Fran
  14. Heh.... I think Cos probably had a direct line to a "higher authority"...LOL Fran
  15. Fran: "Say.... is there any public transportation from Baltimore to Harrisburg that Saturday?" Andy: "Yes.... there's a bus leaving at 10 AM. Be under it." Fran
  16. Yes. Chris called us yesterday..... said he's due to come back to the U.S. sometime in October or so...... then a little time stateside and he's done with his Army hitch. Meanwhile, his wife Kristen and their baby girl Shannon are living in NJ with Wayne and Loretta.... AKA Grandma and Grandpa! Fran
  17. Adam, now that I'm not going to be performing with the 'Shore this year, it's all on you to deliver on the Hawaiian shirt front...no pressure, though!!!! Fran
  18. Sorry to hear that.... but still a very solid lineup for the show. Especially with THE MARINES in the house!!!! April 5..... be there!!! Fran
  19. Heh..... my nephew Chris is an avionics tech with the Army.... he works on Apache helicopters. He's in Iraq right now, but (at least for now) on a base out of harm's way, thank God. Fran
  20. The Regal Cinemas location in Abingdon, MD, about 20 minutes north of where we live in Baltimore. Fran
  21. I probably should just go ahead and get under the bus before you throw me under it!!!! Fran
  22. Definitely not Frank, but I am stumped here. I probably should know this one, but I don't. Fran
