  1. I am envious of anyone that got to see 1:32 live.......Dear God that wall of sound. The intro just teases you with it and then that massive brass hit happens
  2. Blue Devils still do it as well. The quality of both Crown and BD is very high
  3. Actually, the narrator went to my high school when I was a freshman, so I can assure you that while he may have been lip synching, that was in fact his voice. And yes, people did still love it back then too.
  4. Because we were discussing the ability to love our native instruments while also being able to recognize that Drum corps should not be molded to incorporate them
  5. I don't really know. I play horn myself but I hated the horn solo. It was performed well, it just didn't fit. It wasn't right imo. I love my instrument to death, I think it's the greatest instrument on the planet and always will, but I also know where it belongs and that's not in a drum corps for any reason. My $0.02
  6. Haha true! But from what I heard it seemed like this was the first that they had heard of this rule change, so I would bet they're not. It was impossible to post here WITHOUT knowing about the change when it was announced.
  7. There was quite the uproar from a group of ageouts in my theater when the announcers brought up the instrumentation rule change. Many of them were sighing and shaking their heads during the trombone and horn features. So there you go, it's not just DCP that is upset with this change.
  8. There's a picture of it over in the Boston Crusader page. It is NOT subtle at all! I love it! Edit: Ooops someone already posted it here! My bad
  9. I think it is because it's politics that lie so close to the hearts of many fans. People love a good drama and to incorporate such a drill move and basically center an entire show around making fun of the idea that "all corps are equal but some are more equal than others" is Boston's way of giving the G7 the finger. Personally, I love it, but it's up to each individual to decide how they feel about these politics. Edit: I also don't recall people giving Crown a hard time when they did "A Second Chance" back in 2010. people love an underdog
  10. woah....that headgear resmbles headgear that is quite infamous... good thing they never did a tour in the southern US
  11. I took a second to go back and look at the whole stream, and I realized that there is some rehearsal footage taken from a MUCH better vantage point that really shows off the great drill writing. If you just watched the runthrough you should go back and check it out!
  12. Come on guys, bring it in! No need to fight, we all love drum corps!
  13. Didn't the rifle fly off field in Rach Star?
  14. I LOVE Oregon's shows, and they sure have moved up the rankings since becoming a world class corps. However, I'm not sure of how true this is, but I heard of issues with the Oregon school system, where high schools do not get out until the end of June. I think that caused some issues with attendance of spring training last year. IF that's still a problem, I have trouble really seeing them move in to finals this year.
