  1. Pride of Cincinnati - Such a beautiful, thought provoking, and intellectual production. Beautifully choreographed. The cast is simply amazing! I could watch this show over and over! Zydeco - what a great concept and an beautiful soundtrack with the talent to pull it off Onyx - Great show with great ideas. Love the tear away flags. They will certainly medal. Carmel - the performers are technically solid and the show is coming a long quite nicely. a great follow up to last year's production. Northview - it's clucking adorable! still lots to do but they are definately a favorite Trumble - I just love this show and this colorguard. One of my favorites. Lawrence Central - This show is wonderful and the kids do a great job with it. Love the tumbling boxes! O2 - a typical O2 production but this guard is well rehearsed and worthy of the success they are having. Greenfield - wonderful guard, wonderful show Greenwood - wonderful guard, wonderful show Lexis - fun, fun, fun! big guard, big soundtrack, and they fulfill it! beautiful performers with high energy and great skills. this show is a crowd favorite! Southeast - this group is techically sound and they do a great job with only 8 performers.
  2. WGI lists units by class under the 'color guard' tab. I assume when a guard is reclassified they would then fall under the class to which they have been promoted on the WGI site. Guards that competed in week #1 are just now getting their letters on the results of their review so WGI probably then waits a few days to make any changes to the website in order to give directors to share the news. Of course, I am guessing at all of this.
  3. actually, Pride does use a floor..... it just happens to be beige, lol. I suppose by World Championships, however, they will not be using it (just like 2010). they really have no need for a floor. all contest venues now cover the basketball floor which was the main reason guards started using floor coverings many years ago. many use floor designs (floor art) to create staging areas or to help tell their story. Pride does a beautiful job of creating staging areas with out a floor design. they don't need floor art because they ARE the art. I agree sometimes the floor design can really enhance a group's show but in Pride's case I think less is more. the show is absolutely stunning. 'Preaching to the Choir' is my favorite Pride production ever.
  4. I agree Trish. Competition Suite is wonderful and changes everything about how we hear judges commentary. It is so nice not to have to drop off and pick up MP3 players. Just dial the phone number provided in the text and listen. We too enjoyed CS at the Indy Regional this weekend, however, there was a small problem. When I dialed the number for our guard's commentary it had the commentary for another guard in our class. After a couple of hours WGI had it all worked out. Our site also had a weak phone signal, but with the bluetooth technology in my car, my entire staff was able to sit in the car and listen the commentary over the audio speakers. Nice! Our local circuit also uses CS. I assume DCI and many others will also be using in the near future.
