  1. Hi there,

Are you David Wicken? I'm just guessing based on the fact that you taught Dutch Boy with Andrea Hume. I built the new Dutch Boy website and it would be great if you could submit and or verify your details in the Alumni database.

    Thanks Dave

  2. Thanks Jim, Glad you appreciate the CDCA blooklet being included even if you already have a copy. I hoped someone out there would appreciate the work that went into that publication. If you dig up more info I can use on the Senior Dutchmen I'd appreciate it.
  3. Hi Linda, Thanks for all of this. I have added your info. I didn't realize I already had you in the staff listing as well from an earlier submission. I'll look into corpsrep when time allows. I also hope to update the drum corps wiki as well.
  4. Thanks so much. It was pretty well a solo effort and my first real website from scratch but it's for everyone to enjoy and take part in. The response so far from the alumni has been awesome and the corrections/additions are starting to come in.
  5. Sorry to double post but I should maybe have put this here. I am very pleased to announce that www.dutchboydrumcorps.com has gone live again with a retrospective look at the history of the Dutch Boy Drum & Bugle Corps and it's related units including: Cadets of Dutch Boy, Northstar Drum & Bugle Corps, Flying Dutchmen Junior & Senior Corps, Dutch Boy Cadets and the 48th Field Squadron Royal Canadian Engineers Trumpet Band. This site offers more than 50 years of drum corps history dating back to 1954 that began and has been centred in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. This labour of love website was created by David Delouchery, a former Dutch Boy member who marched on the soprano line from 1984 to 1988. "The initial idea that took root seven years ago, was to release a DVD boxset of the corps' performances. Steve Meikle who was the corps director at the time expressed the desire to reach out to our alumni. I was also sitting on hundreds of historic photos that we wanted to make available to them. Eventually I decided that a website would be the best choice to distribute the material. What began as a winter project took four months to complete. The goal was to amalgamate the corps' history in one place in a way that has never been achieved before." As much material as possible has been gathered onto this site including more than 1000 photos, 68 videos and 30 audio & music files. "There are still many "holes" to fill but I expect that members will submit new content and information after they see the progress so far." The Dutch Boy Drum & Bugle Corps has been inactive since 2010. The Northstar Youth Organization which is still based in Kitchener and the banner under which Dutch Boy was operated continues to offer youth education programs specializing in the performing arts through instrumental music and dance. Years Active Dutch Boy Drum & Bugle Corps 1980-1992, 1998-2009 Cadets of Dutch Boy 1977-1979, 1980-2008 Northstar Drum & Bugle Corps, 1977-1978 Flying Dutchmen Senior Drum Corps 1960-1966 Flying Dutchmen Junior Drum Corps 1967-1976 Dutch Boy Cadets 1969-1976 48th Field Squadron Royal Canadian Engineers Trumpet Band 1954-1961

  7. The countdown has begun! Very soon .... www.dutchboydrumcorps.com will go live again with a very thorough (but still growing) retrospective look at the history of Dutch Boy and it's related drum corps family including: Cadets of Dutch Boy, Northstar, Flying Dutchmen, Dutch Boy Cadets and the 48th Field Squadron Royal Canadian Engineers. This is more than 50 years of info dating back to 1954 of drum corps history from Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. This is a labour of love to amalgamate the corps' history in one place in a way that has never been achieved before. As much material as possible has been gathered onto this site including more than 1000 photos, 50 videos and 30 music files. Look for it by the end of April, 2012!
