  1. Guard is being underscored as well, I believe. They always seem to have equipment in their hands unlike the corps immediately ahead of them in placement. The guard work has a pretty high level of difficulty as well. Also, they suddenly seem to have lost the edge they had in visual analysis for most of the season, yet I really don’t see that as being representative of their performances on the field.
  2. GE scoring does not always make sense to me and I believe that the Crossmen have been underscored in that area all season. However, I was at the show and Phantom generated as much (if not more) crowd response last night - that show has really grown in recent weeks. With that said, the Crossmen had a very good run, but I sense they have more in them, so things could change.
  3. Obviously all corps are cleaning and improving, but if you look at the Crossmen’s visual scores before and after the change, it is clear that their strength in competition with Phantom and the Blue Stars suddenly disappeared. That would imply that cleaning the issues that developed as a result of learning the new drill should allow them to close the gap in visual scores. As for 12th place, certainly it is always wonderful just to make finals, but it is far too early to predict that some big placement shifts won’t occur.
  4. I think this is going to be an important week. I suspect that the recent slide in visual scores is due to the changes at the end of the show. They have a couple of days to do some cleaning and I expect that they will come out strong and close the gap on Saturday. I am very optimistic - there is a lot of room for this show to improve.
  5. The scoring / placements are typical for this time of year and are clearly being influenced by last year’s placements. It is so hard to really tell from the streaming broadcast, but I believe that this is a very good drum corps with a very well-designed show. If you go to the Akron show thread, there are reviews from people who were at the show that had the Crossmen above Phantom and Cadets. Give it a week or so and I think we might see some movement. Nicely done Crossmen! It is going to be an entertaining year.
  6. I would suggest this interpretation of the show: If you look at the opening of the show “Funeral for a Friend,” the darkness of the first part of the show, the black umbrellas, the hour glass and then the R.E.M. lyrics that close things out, the show is about accepting the inevitable passage of time, the loss of loved ones and our own eventual death, and embracing life while we can by getting rid of our petty quarrels and issues and living life to its fullest. That’s my take - maybe someone will confirm that this is on the right track? I have been associated with and have followed the corps since 77 and I will say that I think that this season has the potential to be one of the best shows that they have put on the field! Good luck and best wishes for a great season!
  7. I have two tickets in Section S - Row 5, seats 1 & 2 for Friday night (August 4th) only. They are on the aisle closest to the 50 yard line. Really great seats - they are at about the 40 yard line. I want $60 for both (face value is $90). I need to sell them this weekend as I am going out of town next week, so please message me asap if interested.
  8. Tonight I will be listing two tickets on Ebay for the August 2nd show in Pittsburgh (you can search for Pittsburgh drum corps) - it is 3 day auction. The tickets are the top row inner aisle in Section B, so they should be about the 40 yard line. They cost me $60 and I am selling them for $38. Unfortunately, I won't be able to attend the show. If you don't have an Ebay account and want to purchase the tickets, message me and let me know. Thanks!
  9. I have a ticket available for quarterfinals, semifinals and finals - section 441 row 2 seat 9. This is an excellent seat - one section over from center. I have been in this seating area for the last two years and the only thing that is better (in my opinion) is the very center section. The face value on the tickets is $267, but since I would like to sell the group, I will discount it down to $250. First come first serve. I can send interested parties a photo of the tickets to confirm their existence!
  10. The Thursday and Saturday tickets have sold. Only the Friday tickets are left.
  11. No offers, so I am willing to sell them by the pair - I just opened a new topic about it.
  12. I am selling our 2012 Indianapolis tickets. Unfortunately, we will not be able to attend this year - only the third championships that I have missed since 1980! I have two tickets for Finals, Semifinals and Prelims - all are great seats (50 yard line, front row, upper deck for Thursday and Saturday and top row, lowest level on the 40 yard line for Friday) - they are being sold for less than face value ($65 each for Friday and Saturday and $30 each for Thursday). I have listed each set of tickets in separate auctions to begin on Ebay this evening (between 8:20 - 8:30 P.M. EST) - 3 day, Buy It Now auctions. My Ebay name is Parelics! I hope whoever buys them will enjoy the show as much as I would have! (sniff, sniff)
  13. My wife and I learned that we will not be able to go to either Allentown or Finals this year (only the third time I have missed finals since 80 and the only time I have missed Allentown since 77 - sniff) so we have two excellent seats for sale for quarterfinals, semifinals and finals at Indianapolis (I would like to sell them as a set and I would like to sell both tickets) and two seats for both nights at Allentown. Indianapolis - Thursday and Saturday - first row, center section of the upper deck - we have had these seats for two of the last three years - excellent! Section 640, Row 1, Seats 13 &14. Friday is the lowest section - Section 139, Row 24, seats 9 &10 (we were going to mix it up this year). - They cost $390 for the pair (for all three nights) - I will sell them for $375. Allentown (DCI East) - These are the same for both nights. In the top seating area - the left section of the three sections - on the center aisle. We have been in this area before. You are basically on the 40, but, at that height, it does not matter very much, and, you have the luxury of being on the aisle (if you are familiar with Allentown, you know how tight the seating can get) - Section S, Row 4, Seats 1 & 2. These were $140 for both nights (for the pair) - I will take $125. If you are interested, e-mail me at Timelessechoes@yahoo.com. I prefer Paypal payment, so, once I hear from you, I can send an invoice. I will be putting these on Ebay (for the buy it now price you see above) in a day or two if no one has interest on here. My Ebay name is Parelics. It kills me to have to part with these, but sadly, it cannot be avoided. I hope someone can get them who will enjoy the show in my place!
